Thanks to Avantime at Cheapies. Highly recommend reading the comment section there. Rest of this post is a copy and paste.

Link to deal

"Kogan Mobile is doing their anniversary deal with a 90-day Extra Large prepaid voucher for $1, which includes 32GB of mobile data per month (so 96GB in total for all 3 months) and unlimited calls & texts for the period.

Deal available for purchase until 30th September. Available for new and existing Kogan Mobile customers. After purchase you'll get a voucher of which you can delay the activation until 31st October.

Be sure to cancel the subscription at the end of the 90 days if you don't want to get charged $188.70 for renewal. Or just be like me and use a prezzy card/debit card with a low balance, so it automatically declines on renewal date."

There are ads for Kogan on this page (at least for me) confirming this promotion.

Press release just received:

Prepay provider, Kogan Mobile is celebrating its one year anniversary in the market and to mark the occasion, it’ll be launching a special $1 prepay deal with 90 days of mobile connectivity – a market smashing Kogan prepay plan to become available.

The promotion is open to new and existing customers who will pay $1 for a 90 day plan, which includes 32GB of data per 30 days and unlimited calls and texts to any New Zealand and Australian numbers.

Kogan.com CEO, Ruslan Kogan says: “We launched in New Zealand because we saw a real gap in competitive phone plans, especially with data inclusions. We made a promise to set a new benchmark for what a great value mobile deal looks like and have continued to do so, which is why we’re excited to launch this special selling our 90 day plan for just $1.”

“This means Kiwis get $187.70 off what they’d usually pay, and our 90 day plan is already one of the cheapest prepay offerings in New Zealand.”

Kogan Mobile introduced itself to New Zealand a year ago, with the aim to shake things up in the telco market. Powered by Vodafone, the challenger brand is all about delivering value with no setup, hidden fees or excess usage charges.

The $1 phone deal is available from today and new and existing customers will need to sign up by 30 September 2020 to redeem it.

I also saw the ads on geekzone.

I've been tempted myself (currently on 2D and enjoying the service)... but that hasn't stopped me from suggesting it to a few punters currently on Spark/Skinny :)

Thanks for posting this. I prepaid a year’s worth of a mobile package from Kogan back in mid October last year, so this will be perfect timing to cover the following three months.

The service has been fine, other than the inability to get VoLTE working on my phone, but that’s not really a huge issue for me.

Fantastic offer, great place to put my personal mobile now I (temporarily) don't really need the endless data I had on Vodafone.

So glad we have easy and quick number portability in this country.
