I have a review unit of the Dyson V11 Outsize - and it's amazing. You can use it any time, no cord pulling, no trucking a heavy vacuum unit behind you, goes everywhere. And the battery lasts a couple of full house cleans. Recommended.

Interesting. I can't find the V8 absolute anywhere on their site.

The battery in my Dyson stick vac just failed again.  This will be the second battery replacement in <5 years.  I'm less enamoured of Dyson that I used to be.  They offer great after sales support, but it's still a PITA and I'd rather the batteries didn't fail in the first place.

I have received information from Dyson saying that the V8 Absolute is actually not available - I have updated the OP.

Consumer have done an article abut them in the latest magazine, worth a read.

The benefit in the sale with this model though is the free extra battery - why do you need the extra battery when it already lasts more than long enough?

Who knows? It last for our house but I doubt it would last for my parents-in-law...
