I know they can get a little funny about online stores, but does anyone know if NL will pricematch PBTech?

While I generally prefer to buy from those who do the work on discounting (rather than the lazy ones that keep their price up and will only discount is someone else has), I want to use some ASB true rewards, which I can't use at PBTech for purchasing.

Hm it does say

"Please present proof of competitor pricing (e.g. mailer, quote, website listing) at your local store for verification and ensure all Price Promise Terms and Conditions are satisfied as outlined below."

So that should work.....maybe I'll try it.

PB Tech is not an online only store - they have physical stores. My wife got NL to price match them last week. Just show them PB's website page on your phone or tell them and they look it up on their computer.

Noel Leeming refused to pricematch PBTech for an Iphone purchase recently as on the PBTech website there was a badge like "stock sale" or something like that and it was against the terms and conditions of price match.

I won't buy anything from Noel Leeming ever again because their price match policy is such a scam - I've tried and failed on two occasions to get them to price match other retailers (Harvey Norman and Warehouse Stationery) and TBH am not a fan of their business model and promoting a price match policy which is worthless.

JB HiFi are pretty good when it comes to price matching.

Yeah, I see recently that Westpac are saying with hotpoints you can use them at any location that takes Mastercard....hoping at some point ASB does this with treu rewards, and not limits your purchase locations to partners only.

I've never had a problem with NL price matching but HN on the other hand, told via ph they will price match and just go into store no issues, only to go in and be told 'nope!'

But NL isn't high on my list of preferred stores either.

I generally try not to support places like that when possible, but in the past I had success with a pricematch at warehouse stationary on sistema storage tubs that were cheaper at mitre10. Only to be limited to getting 2 of each size because any more than that was too many to price match.

Not a fan of NL price matching either,  after they blatantly lied to my wife about a competitor's product/pricing.

It's rare I purchase anything from them.

Just be aware that if you use the Hotpoints through your Mastercard you get a worse conversion rate (more hot points to get $1) than if you get vouchers for the stores.

Ahh no worries for me, I use ASBs true rewards.

So I've ended up being able to purchase via online chat.  Since it was partial payment of true rewards and card.  And they did honour the PBTech price as well.  Can wander down there and pick it up this afternoon.

Interesting PB Tech say the 64GB iPhone SE is normally $799. Actually its always been $749, still is on the Apple website.

Do they just inflate prices ahead of a sale so make the saving appear more substantial?

I'm in Wellington and the NL in Featherston St always price match for me. They have never refused to date.

For PB Tech, I always remind NL that PB Tech have physical store in Wellington, and they have always price matched them.
