Might not exactly qualify as a bargain, but the above is about $829 at Computer Lounge and PBTech. Cheapest ever so far (in my limited experience).

I think I'll wait for the Intel 12th Gen stuff to appear and be tested. I am happy with my 5800x at work, but for my home PC, whilst I'd be OK with an AMD, an Intel is my preference if it's at least comparable. I think pricing should be relatively similar. If Intels chips are on par with expectations, I think they will be reasonably compelling, and if they aren't then I can always jump at an AMD.

2 weeks. Hah. Only noticed at the weekend.

 

Main advantage for Intel for me would probably be quicksync and built in graphics.

 

But 12 cores...

 

I'm in prevarication heaven at the moment😀
