We came across a company called Brightr.

They supply and install heat pumps nationwide and offer the opportunity to split the invoice over equal monthly instalments by direct debit.

No applying to finance companies etc. just a simple credit check and a direct debit.

With interest rates where they are, free use of money is rare so I thought someone might appreciate knowing.

Got a quote from them for the bedroom and of course they quoted the most expensive heatpump and that's all they would offer the deals on. Formally known as Smart Energy Solutions.

I would suggest getting multiple quotes, and to get a good price if paying cash. Also some banks are now offering low interest energy efficiency loans for homeowners. Think ANZs is just 1%. Banks seem desperate to lend at the moment due to house sales drying up.

Some councils will let you pay off insulation and heat pumps on the rates bill

I got a quote from them and they were about $800 more expensive for the same unit I was after.

Better off paying cash price or applying for interest free QCard deals with other places.

Just a reminder there are a few options around for free or subsidised heat pumps. Eg for Wellington:

Gem Visa or GE card - just wait for an interest free deal, sometimes up to 5 years.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

We had them put two in. They offered Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy, Panasonic and Haier. Interest free was available for any of them and the pricing was fairly average for round here.

I did note during my research that heat pumps are much cheaper in Auckland than most other locations.

A back door mechanism to give an amazing interest free offer
