Please be aware that their support is absolutely terrible. I've spent 2 weeks trying to port a number, which kept failing. First they said I should use the first 17 digits of the sim, then the last 17, then the last 18. Only after more than a week it was escalated and I was called hourly by someone from India while they were sorting it out. After a day they said I could request it again. This time with the first 18 digits and he had triple checked it would certainly work this time.
Nope.

I gave up, will keep the sim for just data for a year in a dual sim phone.

I also emailed kogan support (which is different) and only got a reply after 2 weeks.

@boland what what your previous provider?

I had some issues porting my number from Skinny (prepay), however I found their support was helpful with regard to which exact numbers to use on the sim card after I sent them a photo of it.

The confusion could have been prevented in the first place if the example of the sim serial on their website gave specific examples of how the numbers can be laid out. In my case, it was the inlusion of a "0" at the end which got it done.

@Mehrts coming from 2Degrees. My own one was fine, but for my wife it didn't work. It's a 10yo sim, when nano sims were not invented, so when she got a nano sim phone I had to cut it manually... Cutting of the sim card number :(

I had to call *#06# to get the ICCID. Perhaps I could send them the screenshot.

My 2 kids and wife have been on kogan for 2 years now.  bought them the 50% off packs each time.  I switched last week from 2d (finally off contract and had 50% off black friday).   it was a painless switch for me.  worked first time, took about 4 hours.

$165 a year for 15gb a month, killer deal.

@boland, the phone should display the sim serial too.

I had an "89" at the start which isn't accounted for as part of the serial. I'd start a chat with them and send them a screenshot of the serial. I had to do it via email, as their chat doesn't support attachments.

If anyone is keen to go halves on a Large plan ($165/yr each), let me know 😊

I'm based in Palmy if anyone wants to verify my legitimacy.

I tried getting the Sim number via settings, but couldn't find it.
The iccid I get via *#06# is a 19 digit number, starting with 89.

Based on your recommendations I've sent them the screenshot of *#06#.

Also another tip, if it fails, don't keep trying. I tried about 6 times, after which it got stuck, and it took more than a week and many emails and chat messages to get it fixed.

Does Kogan support Mobile over data? Like when I am abroad, I can use my travel eSIM which then my primary sim over the mobile network?

If so, then I may very well consider moving to Kogan. I keep running out of my 10GB plan now on One NZ.

Yeah, I'll take it - need one for my partner. Flick your bank details through, I'll get the payment through tonight.
