Does anyone know how these compare with the GT-2000? Up until a few months ago I had been using softer running shoes (New Balance Vonga) due to a knee injury but recently I managed a PB in the Hawkes Bay marathon using New Balance 1080s and I could feel the benefit of having less vertical oscillation with the firmer shoes. My impression is that the Asics GT-2000 are very similar to the New Balance 1080s but I'm not clear about the target audience for the Kayanos.

The Kayanos are more heavily discounted than the GT-2000s so are better value, but the priority is to go with what meets my needs.

The Kayanos are ASICS's heavy pronation correction shoe. Much stronger correction than the GT-2000's. They are a great everyday training shoe, if you need the correction. If you don't over pronate then there are much beeter everyday shoes.

Thanks, I think I'll go with the GT-2000 then.
