I compared these to the new Sony WH-1000XM6 in a Harvey Norman shop and went for the Bose.

I got the Bose QC SC version for $299 on sale back in Feb. I don't know if Cool Mobile are any good but they have the SC model for $349

I had a similar experience when I bought my first Bose in a Noel Leeming.

Later I bought the Sony of the day XM2. In a real world office environment the Sony was superior, particularly for attenuating nearby speech. I used both for a while. Bose was superior for train commuting noise and any kind of transport. I put this down to Bose being focused on the flight market years before, and Bose having a broad shotgun approach to noise cancellation sometimes at the expense of sound quality compared to Sony
