Seeing this thread: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=106&topicid=323245   about cancelling Sky Sports Now in the hope there will be a black Friday deal got me thinking about if there are any PlayStation deals for black Friday to reduce the cos on my PlayStation plus subscription.   I have till jan next year, and if I recall correctly, purchasing addition months before hand just get tacked on the end.

Before the last big change in PS Plus subscription costs, I used to buy two or three years worth in one hit when the pricing was discounted (around $60/yr IIRC). But that was a few years ago.

I haven't seen any on sale for months. If I do I'll be stacking my current one which I just paid for last month.

I'm sure you received the email, and I forgot about this thread. Last chance but scroll down and top two options have discounts https://www.playstation.com/en-nz/deals/black-friday/

The PS Plus Black Friday deals are a joke. You can only avail of the discounts if you don't already have an active subscription. My current PS Plus Extra plan expires in January and the discount isn't available to me once I sign in.

I have an essentials subscription which expires on the 7th December so this was a timely reminder. Just signed in and it let me renew for 20% off for another year. No discount showed for the extra tier but 33% showed for deluxe - but only for the 2 days remaining on my sub then renews at full price. Once I renewed essentials it now gives me the 33% option to upgrade to deluxe. Maybe it depends how soon your sub expires. Think I renewed with the Black Friday deal last year which is why it was about to expire around the same time.

Interesting - the website wasn't showing any discounts for the Essentials subscription, but now I also see the 20% offer for the Essential plan when going through the Renew process.

'Essential' for me is showing at $126.95, which I can select 'buy again'.

I went online, logged in, went to cancel my subscription (Essentials), and it let me renew for 20% off.

Yeah, tried that. Didn't work. Actually cancelling also didn't work.
