I have an EcoVacs Deebot and the software is terrible. Maps always fail. Issues with having multiple people trying to control it. Avoid and buy a Roborock

What model do you have?  Do you know if this is a common problem to all their products?

Ecovacs N8

If you go to the Ecovacs subreddit, it is a very common opinion across models.

We've got an Ecovacs Deebot and a Xiaomi Mop 2 Ultra.  Both require re-mapping every 3-ish months, which I find frustrating.

I don't understand how (for the Xiaomi) walls can suddenly move a few degrees in the mapping software, resulting in the vacuum having to a lazy zigzag up the hallway, or a room can turn 90 degrees (for the Deebot).  I'd have hoped you could map the house, set some absolutely fixed points that never move (like exposed apex corners where two walls meet) so the robot vacuum can use these as an absolute reference point.  I've got one of the docks screwed to a wall so it cannot possibly move, but even that is not a 'fixed reference point' as far as the mapping software is concerned.

The Xiaomi was awesome for the first 8-ish months before it got a firmware update, and it's never been quite as good ever again.

And then we've got iRobot Roomba's potentially losing functionality...  iRobot On The Brink Of Bankruptcy, Leaving Roombas at Risk – channelnews
