Is it time for this thread to rear it's head once more?  I'll go first.

-

Dreame Hair Dryer from Amazon AU.  AUD$73, or around NZ$83.  This is advertised as 60% off.  https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CNRZ56ZR

Nearly identical Dreame models in NZ are currently on special for NZ$300.  Dreame Glory Mix Gold – Dreame New Zealand

Our existing hair dryers is fine, but it's an older style and I find the noisiness quite bothersome.  I spotted this deal when buying something else from Amazon AU and hoped it would not end up being rubbish.  We used it for the first time a couple of hours ago.  It was the second quietest hair dryer that I've come across, and the air strength was every bit as good as our old hair dryer.  If someone in your life might need a new hair dryer for Christmas, consider grabbing this beastie.

It's a little different having the air intake at the bottom of the handle, but adjusting your grip is not a problem.  Like some of the reviewers on Amazon AU I would have liked another 30cm of length on the power cord, which is 1.2m long.  Our old hair dryer has a 1.5m power cord.  We'll be putting up with the slightly shorter cord in favour of the significantly reduced noise.

Wow - I don't even need  a hair drier, but I so desperately want to experience "200 Million Negative-Ion" now! 🤣

Our non stick frypans need replacing as they all now stick. We have a mix of cheap Tefal and more expensive Kitchenaid and none of them last so I’m now treating non stick pans as a consumable and buying cheap.

So will probably purchase cheap aluminium pans from Briscoes and put them in the recycle bin after a year. I don’t love the idea but I despise sticky pans and love wipe-clean non-stick.

😬 Last I heard there were health concerns with aluminium cookware? But I guess there are health concerns about most things nowaday. FWIW, I use stainless steel for day to day stuff, polished and seasoned cast iron for the good stuff when it matters. Properly seasoned cast iron is a dream to cook on. Though I am precious about my beautiful patina now.

Anyone truly serious and devoted to their cookware will use and care for properly seasoned pans. I an too lazy and short on time.

I've heard aluminum linked to Alzheimer's but can't remember where ;-D

I just use the air fryer with silicone bowl things to keep it cleaner inside since they dont make the drawers out of proper stuff that can handle the dishwasher too many times.

Briscoes have some of the KitchenAid Stoneware range 'deeply' (aka from the inflated occasional regular prices) discounted. Picked up on it from the Cheapies listing picked up the casserole set from Whangarei and unpacked it looks really good. Downside might be not enamel coated on the inside, but better sized for me than the previous one that was starting to scratch up the stove top.

The baking pans and pie dish also looked really good but didn't get tempted enough to snap one up.  Seems to end tonight.

Thank you.  We were given a medium sized baker dish about a year ago (acquired by a friend via a supermarket promotion I think?) and really like it.  We've now purchased the large and a pie dish.

Being it’s a ripoff Dyson hairdryer I would say the RRP is rather inflated. It may work just fine but I doubt the original retail is exactly genuine.

Any decent non-stick frying pans on sale anyone ?

There's the usual Briscoes stuff. The Tefal stuff OK ? It generally seems a bit pricier but do I actually get anything extra / better for the money ?
