Jaxson: Yes sad news with the passing of Charlie Whiting. He’d been a very sincere guy, a rock of reason in a sport that at times was going a bit crazy.

Yes bring on Sunday, where we finally get to see what’s what. One of only 3 or 4 races on at ‘nice’ hours here in NZ.

Keen to see how Spark Sport works via chrome cast to the Sony TV. Have always found casting like this a bit ‘digital’ jumpy, with micro stutters like it was a different frame rate to the source material etc hopefully that’s not an issue here.

I love my Chromecast Ultra! Still getting the hang of it. What I found with internal testing, is that it works best on a supported app. Currently, our browser CC support is tab casting. The goal I believe, is to allow casting from the media player that we use inside the Chrome Browser

My best experiences are

iPads (Air 1 and Pro latest) to Chromecast

Macbook directly (watch on Macbook)

I don't use Android, I imagine ts similar

I haven't found Apple Airplay that good. Its never been that great, it's ok for static TV shows where the movement is slow. My setup isn't an issue, Fibre 100, i7 AC wifi at TX usually around 700-800Mbit, 4 metres range.

Will Chromecast work from my PC?

Could someone please point me in the direction of a Chromecast "How to"?

😁

At the moment the best ways to Chromecast are from the Android or IOS apps (iPhone/iPad). You can technically chromecast the tab from Chome, but that's a less elegant method and I haven't always seen the best results doing it that way.

The only reason I ask, is that I don't want to get caught short should the battery go flat on my mobile 😅

Please create a topic for this as it's not a F1 related question.

Please use this existing topic to discuss Spark Sport.

Probably a bit late to ask, but do we know who will be providing the live F1 coverage on Spark?

Will it be UK SkyTV and who will the commentators be?

Please not some ignorant Yank :(

From what I have heard it will be the UK team!  https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/11646703/sky-sports-f1-gears-up-for-start-of-formula-1-2019

Including three F1 world champions, the Sky Sports F1 line-up in full will comprise:

Rachel Brookes

Martin Brundle

Jenson Button

Karun Chandhok

David Croft

Anthony Davidson

Paul Di Resta

Johnny Herbert

Damon Hill

Ted Kravitz

Simon Lazenby

Natalie Pinkham

Nico Rosberg

I was watching the Brazil Grand Prix yesterday to try out spark sport...and couldn't get over how jacked up the rears looked.  Seemed to be about double the height of the front.

And then looking at these cars on the live stream today they look quite a bit lower and much more parallel.

Is that track differences or rule changes for 2019?

BTW, loving the lack of commentary, just engine noises, I mean how much babbling can they do in a practice.
