Blackcaps need to win the toss and bowl first to have a good chance at winning. If they lose the toss it’s probably game over for them.

Yep I agree. They need 3 wickets in the power play ideally. NZ have been the strongest bowling team Econ wise, but I dont think Econ will hold players like Bairtsow back. Thats why Id take a risk with Jamo and ask him to use the bouncer off a good length. Him and Milne at each end, after 4 overs of swing by which time the ball will be only moving off the pitch.

I think we have to go for extra batting depth in this one, we look piss weak batting wise as it is. Maybe we need to drop one of the bowlers also and add Seifert or similar. Something, this team is going to get found out. I hope Im wrong and Gup and Conway tonk 200 no lol. Although I think Eng are a 170 side.

Milne is head and shoulders the best white ball bowler, hes got pace, hes got cutter, hes got hidden off pace and a dang handy bouncer.

NZ NEED Livingstone if any hope to keep under 150

Terrible bowling and somewhat fielding. Could have dropped 25 off that score easily with some discipline. Now NZ with too many all rounders and bowlers do not have the depth unless the top 4 can make the runs.

I thought when it looked like Eng would get 140ish, then NZ bowled pies, wides and had some rubbish fielding, that was it.

Like I said, one too many all rounders, needed another batsman in the team to have any chance at 160, so Santner was a gamble that didnt pay off as Ali was out there so long he keot Santner from bowling more than 1.

Id have put Seifert in and Jamieson as a batsman who could bowl some of the overs (he couldnt have done worse than one of boults overs), but the main thing is they would have put the depth to #8 not #6. Asking too much of an inexperienced middle order, outside Conway and Phillips hitting blinders.

What can I say, Im glad I stayed up and had a glimmer of hope in Mithcell and Phillips, was expecting Nesham to be the man. And to think Mitchell didnt take the single he was entitled too.

It’s funny how a team that is world test champions, has made consecutive 50 over World Cup finals and now is in the T20 final is “lucky.”

This is a great team doing great things. Enjoy it because it won’t go on forever.

Things will change in 4-5 years when some of the players retire from the game. Hopefully by that time we have some good domestic players who will be future Blackcaps.
