NZ MUST get Warner cheap or Aus win, its that simple.

I hope Southee doesnt keep that effort going.

Wow Marsh, never seen him play this good immediately.

Thought Milne would be our best, hes got all the deliveries like Lockie Fergusson. A real shame Lockie cant be there as he was NZs premier white ball bowler last year, well he has been since 2019 including the WC. Southee just isnt good enough for T20s going forward. Need fast bowlers who can bowl cutters, bouncers, pace off etc.

Yeah right - a couple of wickets in each over would be good. More than a couple would be better.

Here comes Santner I think, Marsh sucks vs Spin, but Warner will tear him a new one, eeek.

Southee bowling a pie every over costing NZ so far 12 runs, take those 12 runs off and Aus are under the pump. NZ cant afford to be bad with the ball and sloppy in the field like they were vs Eng.

Edit: Milne just showed what Im talking about with him and Lockie having variety, was the variety that kept that over to 4 runs. And I think ben Sears coming through will too. Possibly 3 x 140-155lph players who can bowl all deliveries useful in white ball.

Need Warner out now or its game over, if Aus go into final 10 with 9 wickets left, there is nothing NZ can do, they just too good at running every ball and hitting a 6 every over or there abouts.

Edit: And on queue Warner puts the foot down. Id have held the spinners back while Warner is in and gone with Milne bowling yorkers at Warner and Neesham at the other end.

NZ just bowling pies ever over costing them the match. Aus wont lose from here, Aus turn singles into 2's and are just far better at stopping dot balls, where when Kane came in we had 38 dot balls in first 10 overs.

NZ need a miracle now.

9rpo from 10 overs with 10 wickets, ugggh. NZ prob needed more like 200 at this stage.

Have to go for wickets now, Neesham and Milne and then Boult again.

Marsh was such a dud for so long, in so many matches at international level, but I think hes won this WC with this innings. Warner had to play well, but he had to have someone else go with him and Marsh has.

NZ dont have much left now, if they dont get 2 wickets very quickly, its over.

Edit: Lol, I said bring Boult back and there it is, just when I thought the game was gone. 3 more wickets this over Boulta !!!!

Thats 3 key catches that have only just fallen short for NZ, on any other night, NZ could have won this on 1 or 2 of those carrying 6 more inches.

Well played Aus, this has been a total destruction of NZs bowling and NZ bowling as badly as they did vs Eng, maybe worse, but fielding has been better.

I honestly think our squad is not a great, but only 1-2 players. T20 is 90% SR batting. We need more of our young T20 stars in the team and imo Munro should have been in the team. I think that will be the end of a few of the old guard in T20s. Conway was a HUGE loss.

1/4 finals won, not great, we really need an ODI or T20 WC out of this Golden era.

Aus were not even playing well through the IPL and peeled us off with ease. Hard to stop that when you havnt put the 200 runs on the board we should have. Just way too slow after a quick start dropped to 57 off 10 overs, needed to be closer to 80.

As dissapointing as it is, very proud of the effort from Williamson who was choking the innings then went nuts on it. Very proud of a small country with a tiny player pool making another Final and being the 2nd best international team at making finals (quarters, semis etc) only 1 behind Aus. Jus wish we had 1 or 2 more X factor batsmen in the team up the top, possibly Finn Allen in the future, possibly should have been Munro, but whatever it is, we need to start converting this consistency we have to get to the finals in all forms of the game.

Trent Boult, classy tonight after not so good vs Eng.

Aus just too many good SR batsmen all the way down the order. Well played and congrats to them.

That was disappointing. Congratulations to Australia, they deserved their win. Once again it was quite stark at the ground how much easier it is to bat once the lights really kick in.

I am still incredibly proud of how good this team is. Williamson has barely trained all tournament but still played an incredible innings. He is the greatest bat NZ has ever had and it’s not close.

I think India will win this. The pitch will start deteriorating. It’s going to get harder to bat during the test match. Unless NZ can somehow get a 200 run lead when there batting innings finishes I think it will most likely be a win for India.

We are 200 behind no way can we get a 200 lead, but if we did its too late to finish the match. If India rolled us today which will need a collapse, that 'sstill 2 days for both sides to be bowled out. A draw

Im enjoying this, the T20 was a toss of the coin series, here we have 5 days to get a true result.
