I'm surprised Leclerc didn't come in for a new set of tires, he wasn't allowed to pass Vettel and had 35 seconds back to the guy behind him. Could have had a crack for the extra point and not lost a place.

Merc - got the big picture, sees everything, all possibilities studied, considered

Ferrari - tunnel vision, focused on one thing, fails to consider big picture, repeatedly gets bitten in the bum

But then again, it's probably just that Merc is the better team overall.

Anyway I digressed. It could well be that they thought about it but maybe the confidence was not there that a) Ferrari would have the pace even on new sticky rubber to do that b) LC could do that at the end of a tiring race without crashing into the wall for one point

That's the kicker, and that why i think this bonus point will take on a new dimension and alter traditional strategies.

The team said it was too risky, champion drivers (especially the ones that love themselves and have way too much confidence) take risks and know they need every single point going

So whats it going to be?

I am here just to laugh at Gasly for being unable to pass Kvyat on fresher, softer tyres.

Ahahahahahahhaahahhahahhah how's that working out for you, Marko?

On a totally unrelated note, Brendon Hartley double-podiumed at Sebring.

Ive predicted earlier here that Kvyat will replace Gasly, maybe Summer break.

Great race, lots of action, poor LeC. I like the no team orders few laps, I hope that stays with us and Bottas and LeC are allowed to not be the clear unofficial No.2's.

It was good to see the Ferraris race for a change and LeC looks pretty handy and Vettel is looking like he's lost, spin was his own fault and under pressure again.  Merc look like they have some work to do but tactics spot on.  Hamilton is still faster than Bottas but needs to improve the starts.  What happened to the Renaults?!  And last one, Pierre Gasly is gash tbh.

I didnt see Mercedes tactics as good. Lewis went to softs, the only way that works is if he makes hay while the tyres grip, and he didnt, then they went off. Then 2nd stop Ferrari go to softs and he is on mediums, and has no show. But the race didnt go that far. Bottas said after he will never give way to Hamilton, good to hear. I feel Vettel has met his match and looking at ages, they will soon see LeC as the new future, so I hope its free to race. The three rookies look good, talented, nit afraid to mix it, I like that. usually they are put ink their pace by the established racers.

Just realised  we have 2 kiwis racing in F3 this year. Marcus Armstrong Prema Racing Team (also a Ferrari Academy driver) and Liam Lawson MP Motorsport.  Both have done well in pre-season testing. 1st F3 race is 12 May in Spain. Might actually be on at a reasonable hour too.

Is spark sports f1 feed running? I've just got a spark sport logo only with a duration bar that only goes from -48m to 0m, where as the practice session is much longer than this.

"[I'll] just have to do some more overtaking in the race [itself]."

Yawn 😴

Tried Spark Sport and it worked ok, but the subject matter is just really lacking these days.
