So the case that got lost was on “procedural fairness grounds”

This time the reason is “health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so.”

Also says “as his lawyers prepare to file an immediate injunction against the decision.” so the Ministers decision can be challenged in courts and not final. Looks like they will challenge so game not over yet.

Honestly, he should just get the jab.

As I said on page one, good riddance.

His reputation is in pieces after recent reports of him out and about with covid, and somehow forgetting he was in multiple countries before arriving in Oz.

Those arrival forms should he filled in himself. I thought that was the rule.

Either way, all his own doing.

Just thinking how this will make his travels so much harder in the future.

He could be banned for a few years from entering Oz.

He would also need to explain why he was deported from Oz everytime he tries to enter any country.

No amount of money will buy him out of his new "record".

Nah. It's game over. He has to prove the Minister could not be satisfied that there are grounds for his removal on health and good order grounds. Not that there are no grounds, but that the Minister subjectively could not be satisfied. It's a really high bar to clear (perhaps even an impossible one).

Nah, Australia already knows how to be an American vassal state.

Depends on his lawyers, the judge, and the govt lawyers.

All eyes should be on the match clock. Whether it ticks on or postpone until his day on court.

Yip. The section of the immigration act used specifically excludes natural justice so it doesn't have to be fair, there just need to be grounds.

The previous case was lost on procedural grounds and should never have gotten that far, which is likely why the judge was pretty grouchy about the whole mess.

You need to stop watching so many courtroom movies. If the government has correctly followed process then it's done.

Apparently a judge will decide on Saturday whether he will be allowed to compete in the tennis.

True but still 'rules for some and not for others'.

From Stuff " Sources earlier in the week confirmed there was a justice on standby to hear the case."

I wonder how many other "non famous" people in visa revoked situations have judges on standby for them.

But I suppose that, if by some way he wins again, he is not impacted in game preparation.

According to whom? He's been asked to go to an immigration interview on Saturday, there are no reports of any case being filed.

There will be a directions hearing tonight. This will give guidance as to the next steps.
