Stephen Donald was whitebaiting when he got the call up. How funny is that? So kiwi!

I'm a little concerned about playing AUS this weekend. Although I was happy with Cruden who I had written off completely. Hopefully he can make me east my words again. I'm thinking Dagg, Jane and Kahui as the back 3 will be too much for AUS. Although I hope Gear gets on, he's a beast.

SA were completely unsympathetic when we had the same happen in 2007. I feel for them, I feel they are right and the ref allowed blue murder to occur, SA should have won, but will they get his head? Nope, and will they get a rematch? Nope.

South Africa had every chance to win the game really. Sure the ref didn't have one of his best days but the game was definitely for the taking for the Boks. They had let themselves down many times throughout the match with knock-ons or turnovers just when they were about to score.

Agreed. It's hard though, I feel the same way about the AB's in 2007, but without the bad reffing we would have won regardless.

I thought Wales were going to beat France by 15 points tonight, Sam Warburton deserved to go off, and I was furious for Justin Marshall comments about it being unlucky. It was disgusting. He is paid a LOT of money to know how to tackle and I felt it was deliberate. I hope he gets a 20 match ban.

On the plus side, the French look weak to say the least and I think if we play them we have a much better than even chance of beating them.

i thought i saw at least 2 other of such tackles in meaningless games (RWC2011) only getting a penalty. this was a semifinal. and mr ref has french blood.

(look i neither condone nor condemn the tackle or the card in my statement above)

I didn't see any that high, and he dropped him! How stupid. If you were going to lift a guy and got carried away the decent thing to do is hold him till he is down.

The tackle was not as bad as it looked as he supposedly backed out when it was too late. But he still grabbed his legs and tipped him on his head. When I watched the replays all I watched was his head and back, not knowing if he was hurt. What worries me, is that if you did that tackle 10 times, at any tine he may break his neck. A few inches here or there will do that. Red card? Definitely. The victim in any other hard tackle may get a broken bone at worst. A tip over tackle can lead to being paralysed from the neck down. You cannot allow any tackle like that to occur.

I hoped Wales would win as while they are a real nice rugby side, but that is all they are. We would never lose to them. The French have an "A" game which is a risk, they could beat any team on any day with their high risk rugby. Last night however, they left their brains in the bus.

It does say in the rules though that a penalty or yellow card should be given, not a red card.

Quote 10.4k, IRB Rugby Union Laws
(j) Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player's feet are still off the ground such that the player's head and/or upper body come into contact with the ground is dangerous play.
Sanction: Penalty kick
