And thats from the self confessed Max Verstappen fan lol.
mudguard:
To be fair on Honda McLaren asked them to come in a year early and then gave them no space to put it!
This is very true, rose tinted glasses and all that. Thanks.
insane:
5. Calls for the race directors job
This one I don't mind looking a bit closer at. The FIA really need to review how much influence they have and how it's applied.
That making deals to unlap or reposition at restarts etc, to avoid sending incidents to the stewards etc, was just mental.
And I'd really love to see the passing rules clarified and enforced consistently throughout the season. In recent years this has caused ongoing issues and influenced the title fights much more than it should have.
Consistency and clarity please.
insane: The BS coming from Mercedes recently is laughable.
1. Toto and Lewis are disillusioned
2. Lewis might not come back to challenge for a record 8th title.
3. Their car is having development issues despite having been years longer in the making than others, and having influenced some of the rules.
4. Their engine is way down on power and will struggle.
5. Calls for the race directors job because he made one call they didn't like (too soon?).
Next they will sandbag their preseason testing and then ride off into the distance again at the first race and talk about what a tough race it was and how hard they had to dig deep.
I used to be a Merc and Toto admirer, but I just can't anymore, it's insufferable :P
I really hope a 3rd or 4th team are in the mix for race wins!
It is painful.

Hasn't seemed to bother them when they have been the beneficiaries of some insane calls. Even when they've fallen foul of legitimate rules (the wing gap in Brazil) they've carped on about it like it was some huge prejudicial ruling, when their car just simply exceeded a measurement. They personalised everything that went against them to the point of absurdity, trying to foster some sort of underdog status, after ignoring the huge swings in their favour in the mid-season.
It was a joke, and then they showed up with an engine that was seconds faster in the last four races and still tried to convince everyone they were the scrappers. That did as much, if not more damage to the credibility of the sport than the finale IMO.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you, just my comment was wider than just Mercedes and applies to all of F1.
They need to sort the interpretation of rules and then commit to consistent application of those across the board.d
Both aspects are hurting the sport just as much as having one significantly more dominant team cleaning up consistently.
insane: And on a more upbeat note, read this today that made me chuckle

Looks like Horner has himself a Merc factory tour :D
That was a crackup aye 😅
Red Bull 2022 unveiled too:

Personally not a fan of the wheel covers.

I do like the colour though :-) Looking forward to the testing sessions as we'll get to see the proper cars unfold as they correlate on track performance against the design and they'll have all the bits added on rather than dummy cars as we'll mainly see.

Yeah I find that frustrating. Kind of the point of 18" wheels was to make it attractive to tyre manufactures, oh, here is a tyre that you can have on your car, that just won a Grand Prix. Not a fat little 13" donut.
Yet with wheel covers, they don't look that different. I wonder if BBS or Enkei or someone thought there may have been a sales opportunity that's now vanished.
I think the wheel covers are to avoid the aerodynamic effects that the wheels can provide for aero improvements.

Yep, all designed to reduce the turbulent air flow out the back etc.
Still don't like how they look though 😉
