N'golo Kante for the win! Amazing what a stint in Saudi Arabia will do for physical recovery.

Euro 2024 winner Spain. Copa America winner Argentina. Well deserved, both teams were outstanding trough the whole competition.

I dont have the interest to watch/follow club football so international tournaments are an excuse to go football mad for a few weeks and binge. My family have been watching all the highlights from the group stage (some whole games here and there) and then we moved onto getting up to watch the knock out games live.

It's been nice family times with early morning pancakes, snuggling under blankets and waiting for the deadlock in the tight games to be broken, complete with excited screams and shouts as the near misses turn into goals.

TVNZ's on demand/live service was awesome. We had very few glitches, picture quality was great and all at the cost of ads at half time.

Roll on world cup 2026.

It was great only improvement would be chat at half time, they must of just paid for the feed not insights or half time commentary. The streaming quality was great though

I agree with you both - TVNZ have done very well with the Euro tournament.
It's just a shame we didn't have the Copa as well.

I hope they have the rights to the FIFA WC...I am not actually sure if they do. But IF they do, I'd like to think we can get some of the pre-post-halftime panel stuff. I find it quite interesting, but am also OK with ads before, at halftime and after the game. Rather that than pay the ridiculous sums that some streaming platforms want us to pay.

I'm not sure if I could have coped with two tournaments at the same time 😂

I had a quick google and I can't see who has the NZ rights for WC 2026.

I’ve never been into football but my son’s got me somewhat hooked over the last year. As well as many of the Euro games on TVNZ (none at 5am, I must say!) I caught one semi-final and the seond half of the final of the Copa tournament via VPN and ‘alternative sourcing’. Man, quite a bit of dirty play in those games, esp from Colombia - I really didn’t enjoy that overly agro vibe.
