Handle9: Rugby Australia have also said they were covered by insurance. If they settled below their litigation cap then it made sense for them to do so.
if all of us took the most expedient course always, humanity would be ... well I can’t articulate it.
sometimes, you have to stand up and be counted, and ARU have shown us who they are. Basically condoning reprehensible actions.

To me this shows how spineless Australian Rugby are. They've basically said, "spew as much hate as you want, go hard mate, she'll be right".
But then again, not that surprising as Australia as a whole has always been behind the times in the gay rights area.
You can look closer to home if you want spineless - look at how the crusaders leaders pulled out of a rename.
But to stay on topic for Folau, is aussie sport known for its' ethics? This is a country that rewards underarm bowlers and ball tamperers.

It is easy to say. If you reduce the argument to money then it’s all about money. I predict Qantas pull out of their sponsorship deal - they aren’t putting all that money in to hand it over to a bigoted extremist.
but in this case it’s not about money - it’s about what’s right and ARU have lost the $8m and much more besides.

Bulls have turned him down. Good job. Enjoy your right to 'freedom of speech' Izzy, while employers equally enjoy their right to decline the pleasure of your company.

For someone you think should be banished off the face of the earth, you certainly seem more than a little obsessed and giving him plenty of space in your brain. :)

Much like my cannabis post, it all comes back to Cults and religous extremist fanatics. Do they push us to the point of gagging freedom of speech. Boy that would suck.
But after the Aussie attack on our Countrymen in CCH, Israel.
Israel is a few words away from becoming a religious fanatic capable on influencing a lpt of people.
He is just out of line and needs a reality check regadless of his fundamentalism, he cannot behave the way he does and this be justifiable. Laws need changing.

elpenguino: Why change laws when public ridicule does the job instead?
I suspect that neither laws nor public ridicule are likely to change Israel's views. He was publicly ridiculed after the first incident, and obviously that didn't stop him or change his view.

I'm happy for m folau to keep his laughable medieval views, the worlds big enough for that.
But no one has to listen to them.
