I usually use the Tribe app or Flashscore app when checking for sports update. If a sport/event is not on the Tribe app then I use the Flashscore app.

Both apps are available on iOS or Android.

Then there are apps for individual sports such as ESPNCricInfo and Cricbuzz for cricket.

Thats my go too, just for so much being available in one place.

Mariu gets his first 50, gosh hes got some class, which prob reflects in his high 50s avg in the 4 day game.

Has really good hand eye and like all the really good players, he plays it late most of the time. I like what I see, but then I liked him prior. NZ has some really good players coming through, its going to be a good problem to have.

Bracewell in ahead of both Abbas who has scored 50+ then a solid 40, Hay is coming off a match savings innings for NZ, with 99no, the second 50 must have been off 20 odd because it was rapid from 40 onward. Bracewell for me is the start if the tail, sure he can bat, but Id go with the players in form.

I guess the positive it leaves some batting in the tail for the final 5-10 overs with both being able to hit a very long ball.

Well I was wrong on that one, its Bracewells day today haha :-)

Edit: Well I think thats a pretty par score for a shortened match, if you break it down for the first 22 overs, score 6rpo, then go T20 on it, it seems quite achievable.

Well that ended as the others have with an attempt but just not enough in the tank.

Was a good score by NZ in the end, I thought on a 240-250 pitch it might be contested even with 42 overs. Never mind, I think the Pak players for always signing balls and etc and being top blokes on and off the field, they have some top players, is a shame they couldnt get some more competitive totals. But enjoyed having cricket into mid autumn and its colder days, although keeping them in the upper north late in the tour made sense.

NZ A vs Bangladesh A unofficial test, live and FTA on YouTube on a channel called "TSports". Day 2, NZ-A asked to bat and are 244-8, Mitch Hay just dropped at slip on 75* but going well otherwise obviously.

Commentary is interesting, a combination of English and the local lingo it seems like.

aggggh nice, Im tired of the NBA and MBL, need some Cricket. Still love US sports but aside from Boston having to win all 3, now 2 remaining games to make playoffs.

Interested in what we have put forward batting wise.

edit: Hay producing runs, its going to be great when he has the like of GP ahead of him and maybe KJ, or whoever is a solid all rounder/bowler.

I think despite this score, we have to persist with Mariu, he just needs a bit of luck opening.

Yeah an interesting touring team selected, I was a bit disappointed Tim Robinson didn't get a look. I've got a lot of hope for him, though his form did seem to drop off towards the end of our summer. Still, good to see Hay, Mariu, Abbas, Boyle, Clarkson, and Foulkes getting more rep game-time.

If you want some more red-ball evening cricket, try seaching "county cricket" on YouTube. It will bring up all the live feeds from the county matches, some picturesque venues and good multi-camera coverage at times considering it's not international cricket. Tend to channel-surf the feeds to concentrate on the Kiwi's playing, have seen Tom Latham score a big hundred on an absolute road at Edgbaston, along with Nathan Smith, Ben Sears and Blair Tickner having a trundle for their sides in the last week.

Its quite surprising what free sport is out there. Im considering whether or not to renew my Kayo and DNS service.

Yes these are all the young guys coming through being thrown in the deep end, we will see who can produce and I guess from there its really seeing who can fit in as part of the new era.

For me Abbas is a genuine all rounder. Mariu is a fantastic top order. And Hay is the obvious incumbent WK. I think its good planning from NZC.

C'mon then, where are you all? Test Cricket is back on the menu, live on Three Now from Zimbabwe.

Plenty to say about the new NZ set-up but I'll keep my mouth shut as I'm a grumpy old bugger and let's see what they can do first time out.

Zimbabwe have won the toss and are batting.

Why are these Tests not part of the WTC?

As I understand it only the top nine ranked test nations are eligible to play in the WTC and Zimbabwe is not one of them.

Oh interesting, didn't know that. Doesn't that penalise teams that play the likes of Zim?

I can't believe for this test they don't have DRS. Surely there should be some requirements to host tests? Seems very club like.

TeaLeaf, did you catch Foulkes' first test scalp? Very nice delivery.

Yes it was an epic performance, I kept the faith in him, like many of the young guys Ive called out, they just step up, thats the good signs for NZ. My thoughts were, another young bowler stepping up for NZ at the pinnacle of the sport. A 5fa on debut, but more impressive the best match figures for a NZ debutant at 9/72. He has a mean inswinging yorker, similar to KJ but from a much lower trajectory.

Matt Henry yet again, just getting insanely better with age one player of the series I believe, avgd something like 8.5. To think he was well above an avg of 40, to get it down to something near respectible shows just how much things improved quickly for him. Hadlee was the same, although his worst peak was more like 32, until he started consistently channel bowling.

Team wise that first innings 601/3 was very impressive, good to see Conway score a strong century.

Now onto the Chappel-Hadlee, I might have dementia, but I thought the Chappel Hadlee use to be an ODI series? Anyway some T20s with Aussie  3 matches then Eng for 3 t20s and 3 ODIs, but what Im mostly looking forward to is the West Indies Test Tour (along with the 2 white ball series).

First WTC cycle starts with WI after the two white ball series in NZ, then Eng June next year away, India back at home/NZ, Much anticipated 4 big Test tour of Aussie next Dec/Jan (hoping we have cemented a team to finally compete there), Sri Lanka home series, Pak away series. I think thats pretty fair. The 3 big sides, Eng whilst away in Eng, we dont get a more like for like to our own conditions, Ind in NZ is excellent and Australia whilst hot, we are producing bowlers similar to their conditions. Pak away will be demanding. But I have some hope we could do well with our WTC schedule again. I think if we can nab ~50% from the 3 big Test sides, which wont be easy, the Aussie tour especially, but if we can we should be in with a chance.
