I'm not a fan of street circuits, especially the new ones introduced during the past 10 years. They don't seem to provide many opportunities for overtaking, which is a problem when we have cars that seem to be difficult to overtake due to their aero characteristics.

I think it's also hard visually that you can't see sequences of cars with long shots etc. It's like watching racing in a hallway.

Madring looks good as a new track but in the actual race is SUCKED.

Looking forward to Baku though, tight and treacherous.

I thought the last two races were boring.

In what racing series should it be possible for someone starting last to win?

In the Spanish race, the 8th placed driver was 9 seconds down from the leader at the end of the second lap. At the end of the race, the top 3 drivers were 5 seconds apart, 4th placed driver was 30 seconds down, 6th place 90 seconds and 9th onwards more than a lap.

They’ve rather walked themselves into corners now.
Change needs consensus, and rules need to be somewhat stable to make the development costs worthwhile.

Some of it is safety but the cars are huge now compared to what they used to be.
Passing is artificial when it does happen and even charge differences can’t save certain tracks as you say.

the flip side is true too. Yes street tracks lately aren’t really hitting, so too are some of the more modern race track designs - with their huge run off areas making them feel like large supermarket car parks with painted lines.

The electric mix is just not working. I was excited about change but this is painful.
batteries empty too fast and rob petrol powered speed to recharge.
the cars are too complex, the tyres last too long, there’s no refuelling to add in different strategies etc etc

races are being decided on VSC periods and those who can get lucky with the pit window alignment.
