Kimi Antonelli is exciting. He's fast and has the trust of the team. F1 race debut in the works car!

McLaren have some questions to answer.
Just as I’d thought really, the battle between team mates is impacting the team now in terms of risk and they have/had a chance to take a swing at the drivers championship too, but haven’t backed their long term guy to go for it.

Great pass near the start but again is one of those that requires the other driver to brake super heavily to avoid a collision, and allowing another team to enter the mix - instantly hampering the range of strategy options. Means upping the agro to keep defend and keep your place which is riskier for the team and slower. I wonder how or if they’re going to manage this.

Stunning situation for the winner though. Turned into a great race and one for the ages if you were in the crowd there.

I wonder if Piastri is preferred as the Number 1 driver at McLaren now?

Thought the commentators, especially Palmer, were a little harsh on McLaren. They asked Piastri if he could do a 1 stop and he said no. I think it was just a great drive by Leclerc. Especially as Sainz stopped later so had fresher tires but only managed 4th.

Where you can question them is the drivers championship. Thats 10 (fairly easy) points that they could have given Norris without affecting their constructors standings at all. Do they think its a bridge too far? If so - bit defeatist.

Is he? I'm not yet convinced. He's not setting the world alight in F2 in the way I'd expect a generational talent to be talked about and the practice crash aside, there seems to be an incredible PR machine going to work beind him that doesn't line up with the results we've seen so far.

I feel like McLaren threw that away tactically but then looking back on it perhaps its just great work from Ferrari and Charles drove the wheels off the car again.

Good to see Max well back in the pack, I think Mclaren will lead the constructors after the next race.

I don't think the champion should be constructed. Norris just needs an attitude adjustment.

I do feel deep down Piastri's move on Norris was a response to Hungary. And that's what Lando failed to understand at the time.

he just needs to work on starting better. He went deep into turn 1 and so Piastri got the better drive out and got him in turn 2.

Hungary wasn't Lando's fault. The team stuffed up the pit stops not his fault.

Agree. If anyone was gifted points its not earned. Reminds me of the dark days of team orders. Scripted races

Good race. Ferrari seems to be good with tyre wear, that gave 2 options whereas McLaren only had 1 option, a 2 stop

I disagree, I don't think there is any prize money for a Driver's Championship. Only the Constructors, so if the driver's cause conflict they should be put in their place.

They lost one place at the start, and undercut that back, so seems fine. It came back to Ferrari managed a 1 stop. McLaren couldn't

As far as Constructors goes, its a slam dunk, I said that a while back. Although if Ferrari have truly made a step forward as LeClerc says, then it could well be a McLaren vs Ferrari Constructors

That's the difference between being a fast qualifier and racing. The reason why it's hard for the tail end of the field to score points is usually Alonso sitting on 10th or 11th. If Norris was better at the strategy chess game as a lot have suggested he would have followed orders in time to pass
Piastri. It's up to him I don't think coaching via radio is allowed.
