I think there's real concern about Yuki handling the pressure. He's quite a handful on the radio.

There is the thought that he is a Honda driver rather than a RBR driver and therefore with that partnership ending in 2026 they don't want to promote him oversome who has long term ties to the RBR academy.
Yeah that's why I thought he'd be in the line for Aston, but that means Alonso would have to go and with Newey now onboard I don't think he'll do that soon.
Alonso has signed a long term deal to move into management somewhere within the team once his driving days are over. I think that's scheduled to be end of 2026. Of course, if Honday and Newey build a rocketship in '26, he might not be keen to get out of the seat at the end of that year and let anyone else jump in.
I think Tsunoda's options will be limited, even if he is supported by Honda. Unless Honda became a PU supplier to another team in addition to Aston, though I'm guessing the deal Stroll did is for exclusivity to his team.
Still quite inconceivable Red Bull haven't replaced Perez but I guess there would be a riot in Mexico and the -50million in sponsorship.
There's no way they are putting Yuki in the car just too emotional and up and down, can't understand why they renewed him other than for Honda reasons.
Would have been interesting to see Danny Ric get a go in the main car but hey Lawson lets go.....

They probably want to leave Mexico alive. If those races had been in the first half of the season, he'd be done.
Still think Yuki is where they should have gone for the RBR seat; Alpha Tauri needs some credibility when it comes to funnelling young drivers to the main team, and Danny Ric would have been an excellent mentor for Liam.
Will anyone be surprised if the decision to boot DR and bring in Lawson was made 6 weeks ago? and they all walking around going well maybe we don know yet, or the decision hasn't been made.
Be good to know what team the Netflix crew were with this last weekend.

The inside word was just after this race. Danny Ricc was basically calling it the end. RBR will wait a bit and say ,after big discussions during the break we decided to replace with Liam. Who was excellent filling in last year [adds ongoing compliments] Robust discussion etc etc lol . Too much politics

According to Kym Illman a Netflix crew were with Ricciardo in the VCARB hospitality unit for some time that evening post-race. Ricciardo was apparently the last driver to leave the circuit at around 2am.
While you guys were sleeping, Liam Lawson becomes an F1 driver with Racing Bulls/VCARB/Visa Cash App RB. I think he holds the lap record for nearly all the race tracks in NZ, though his did them in a pretty fast race car.

Yep saw the news this morning. Great news for Liam. Pity the next race is 3 weeks away
Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+
PR handling around this has been shockingly bad. Guard of honour in the hospitality booth clapping him off, tears in the journalist interviews etc but nothing formal from anyone.
from Liam directly

Maybe it's a tradition in that team. I don't think Brendon Hartley got any mention from Torro Rosso when he got tipped out other than the thankyou for all your assistance from Honda.
I've been sitting here trying to think of a way to put it into words.
Just really disappointed and genuinely feel for Daniel Ricciardo.
Yes he's not the best driver in the field but at every turn this season and frankly the last couple of years he's been hamstrung and hung out to dry.
Not only that but vCarb/RB and all have handled it SO poorly, with such incredible disrespect, whatever the reason, for someone who is genuinely loved among the fanbase/drivers/media. Astonishing.
Then as a kicker, immediately follow it up with a at best 'puff piece' video from Lawson on the vCarb instagram???
God damn man.
