i have no idea about all the qualities needed to be a good fullback. have never seen richie kick for touch. but wing? other than catch high balls, run past everyone and score? isn't that what every league player is good at?

My comment was a joke, based on the fact the man seems to have no real limits and for the fact if he was asked to, I'd bet my bottom dollar he would do everything in his power to do a good job :)

I think I saw Richie kick the ball for the first time in his career in this years last game for the Crusaders, I'd never seen it before in my memory.

This is terrible. How can someone get away with such a low penalty for such a big hit. Further more how did it not get picked up for a Red Card in game?

Penalties should apply to the level of the game you are playing, IE if Infringement was during a test match, then penalty should apply to test matches.

Apparently SH considering dropping third Half Back during the WC to make way for Slade who potentially fills in on that position. I presume if AS got injured God forbid, they could send for additional cover on short notice? I presume the squad of 31 can expand to cover injury? I am not sure if the rules state only 31 players per team or whether NZRU Limited it due to cost?

Mind boggles that TKB who is playing pretty average Rugby and who hardly impressed in the black jersey last year is going to Australia. I guess he remains consistent that injured players don't lose their spots.

SBW, every time I see these three characters in this order, or the full name I immediately think "over rated".

I wasn't a big fan of the switch, but I don't agree he is over-rated, or at least not majorly. He has played some good rugby and is a good backup to Maa-Nonu. I don't think we have that many good players at 12. Crotty is error free, excellent on defense, but has no real razzamataz. I am increasingly of the opinion he is a good option at 13. I don't think SBW is suited to the wing, not fast enough.

TAB shows NZ 1-40 Oz 2-80, that seems a bit generous? Given Samoa and SA games, and some of our big name players use Winston Peters Gold Cards?  From the frenzy of our awesome record in world rugby the last few years, isn't the team adversely affected by these aging stars?

I wonder which players you are referring to ? Which of those players are playing tonight? Our record stands at least partially BECAUSE of those aging stars.

I do however agree those are silly odds. I do think the AB's will win tonight, but I'd be surprised if it were a romp. I have them winning by less than 8

Not sure what games you'd been watching but this year in black Richie has been outstanding and Carter has been pretty good too.

Carter hasn't faced any quality test opposition. He will kind of, tonight. Not sure which Wallaby side is turning up tonight. I say let the judging begin tomorrow.

I thought Richie held his own against the Boks' flankers, but can't remember if he was dominant or not.
