Perhaps having won 3 Rugby Championships, 2 Freedom Cups, and 3 Bledisloe in a row and a few test matches won in a row, and signs of improvement, we can give the Foster bashing a break for a bit?

Man I love the womens Rugby teams, 7's and 15's. They are such great role models.

I know Japan weren't expected to trouble them, but 90+ points and some great intent on display, along with some lovely sportswomenship and mutual respect, it was fantastic.

Pretending it’s all good now is as silly as some of the more extreme negative stuff earlier in the season. There is a long way to go.

The northern tour probably won’t give a huge amount of guidance as we’re not playing either of France or Ireland.

How on earth can you take what I said as "pretending it's all good now"?!

Honestly, sometimes it feels like you are being argumentative for the sake of it. I've gone to great lengths to talk about both the progress that has been made *and* to also talk about the fact we are nowhere near the finished product and we should continue to expect bumps along the road.

*All* I was suggesting, is that, with some progress being made, we could stop on incessantly having a Foster bashing session every page or so!

Jordie was outstanding at 12. Lock him in there. I thought they may have started Jordan at 15 and given Reece a start on the wing, but Beaudie was excellent at the back.

The starting props are light years ahead of the reserves that were named tonight. Samesoni is miles ahead of Taylor and Coles. Taylor was average again. Get the young Canterbury hooker in asap.

Yep, finally the selectors listened to what I had been telling them all year and started Jordie at 12. Now we just need to wait till ALB and/or Goodhue is back. Then we can slot one of them into 13 and move Reiko to the wing. In that set up, I'd love to see Jordan at 15, but Beauden was good there too. He could be an awesome super-sub, like the old days. That's a good selection problem to have.

I honestly think Laulala, Ofa and possibly Taylor were getting a last chance trial to be in the squad through to the RWC. Agree the starting props are now firmly the incumbents. I think Newell and Bower should probably be the reserves, but maybe Moody when he comes back. I haven't watched enough NPC to know recent form, but I'd still like to see Brodie McAlister at hooker on the end of year tour. I prefer him to Aumua.

I think it was interesting that they played Ofa at loose head, rather than his more normal place at tight head. That says to me, they looking at a World Cup squad member who can cover both. Utility value in a Cup tournament situation is valuable.

Boy, people sure got excited by one good outing by Jordie Barrett at Centre. I think he was excellent, no question, but I'll reserve judgement and see how he goes in the next few games, if they persist with him there. If he plays like that week in and out, he would easily be our first choice 12.

It's not Foster bashing, fact is he's too incompetent to be the head coach... obviously it's the other two coaches that have made the real difference in the big improvements in the team.

Six games (not weeks), three of which have been "served" by picking him for an "Australia A" tour for which he otherwise wouldn't have been picked.

Bundee Aki got 8 weeks for what I'd consider to be a far less serious incident. Aki does have some history admittedly, but Swains punishment is an utter joke.

Aki would have likely gotten 4 weeks but his penalty was elevated from mid range to high range due to him shouting at the referee and refusing to leave the field.

The player he cleaned out is reported to be out for 4-6 months.

It's pretty obvious J.Barrett will continue to be a top 2nd-five for the ABs, also no other midfielder in the squad has all the skill sets he has, also his composure is very good too.

Yeah, was very impressed they didn't take the foot off the throat, they showed excellent execution and accuracy, didn't force passes etc... Wayne Smith is doing a great job with them.

Wowsers what a fantastic experience taking my kids to Eden Park yesterday was. The crowd was awesome, and after a bit of a rough start, the women were fantastic. Hung around to hear Ruby Tui speak. It was so nice for them to sell out Eden Park, after she had got on pretty much every radio station and social media platform to ask anyone who could. The seats were inexpensive too. Not sure how much additional games I'll get to, but I hope to watch the bigger matches and any that the Black Ferns play in.

I was very proud to be a Kiwi yesterday.

Poor Fiji got a lot of kick off practice, but they were competitive for around 35 minutes. Something to build on, but England just routed them in the second half. I didn't see the France SA game but I am told they have continued their form into the tournament.

I'll be surprised if it isn't won by France, England or NZ, and probably in that order. The Black Ferns haven't really faced stiff competition since the end of year tour where they got smashed, but they show signs of excellent work from the forwards at times, and of course our backs are excellent.
