I’m hoping the race delivers something good tomorrow morning. I’ll be getting up early to watch

Wow what a drive from Lando, went the one stop and held off a hard charging Oscar. McLaren drivers miles out in front now. Really felt for Charles, not sure what happened to the early race pace but to finish off the podium after qualifying on pole & leading for so long is crazy. Good race for Liam held off Max so well. Not a great race to watch but some good racing all round. Summer break next and only 9 points in the WDC.

Dang I hoped Oscar would grab Lando

Liam was strong, typically you see him there, then the cars behind ease up and pass, but he was rock solid and steadfast, pun not intended

Watching the interviews with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton and I have to say, he came across as a bit of a broken man.
I'd be concerned about his mental health, if I were the team...he seems...unusually fragile.

Great drive by Lawson to hold off Verstappen and nice to see him finish a race maturely and confidently.
I hope the break doesn't send him backwards in any way.

Another race where grid places were ultimately the winners on the day - these courses need to be altered in some way to allow better options for aggressive passing and tactical driving.
But what do I know? I drive a BYD.

Really enjoyed the race. For a track that was said to lack overtaking opportunities and even though many drivers finished near their starting positions, I wouldn’t say it was processional. It was exciting. Thought the F1 TV commentary was great.

Yes, great to see a solid race by Lawson.

I watched the 30 min recap which I think is a huge benefit of F1 TV over the 10 min free youtube highlights package I used to watch.
At that rate it was a very good race, with any lull points left out.

The McLaren battle is hard to watch, with either in the running.
I want Lando to win but Oscar is generally the more likely, though he's showing his cracks this year too.  Things like that plea for the team to reverse the stewards decision a few races back etc.

LeClerc and Lewis both battling the wonder that is Ferrari strategy planning.
Lewis looks broken.  LeClerc looks like he's the other end of the scale and super angry at the team.

Alonso and Stroll had excellent races.
And Lawson, fastest of the whole wider Red Bull squad was awesome.  Yuki non existent.

If you haven't seen it, Lawson won people over with his Rally attempt at Goodwood recently.

I think that was in response to team comments about stewards decision being unfair. He called their bluff, if they really thought that they had the means to fix it.

Last race before the summer break, whats your predictions? i've got Mclaren 1-2, Mercedes 3. Lawson will scrape home for points with a 9th or 10th.  I think racing bulls said last week their car should favour the hungry circuit.

Should have put money on my prediction, Lawson for 8th pretty good, not perfect but pretty good.

To be fair, Oscar v Lando in this race.

I gave up watching F3/F2 as it was all about what strategy, normal or alternate. Last night was the same, Lando lucked in. He lost places at the start, so no choice but to go long and hope. Yes a good drive but a lucky scenario after failing at the start

Lewis never recovered from what happened at Abu Dhabi GP 2021...

He should talk to Fernando about how to keep the passion alive

Yeah, he may be in "try too hard" mode. Or maybe his age is catching up. Don't really know how much age has caught up on Alonso as he doesnt race at the front of the field in a car that can be compared with another top driver

I believe Charles had an under tray issue which meant they could not use full speed in the straights.

For Lewis, I suspect chassis flex may be in there somewhere - I don’t watch the telemetry but that would be my random guess.

Lewis apparently was on massive lift and coast from the beginning and Charles was probably running too close to the ground and could have caused a DQ from plank wear like lewis had earlier in the season... what ever the case now, last year the Ferarri was second best and pretty good but this year they've made the car worse!

Into race week again finally, the summer break really dragged.

Bottas and Perez officially announced as the pairing for Cadillac next year. I'm in the completely underwhelmed camp on this, though I can understand why Cadillac think this is the right way to go. However, I've seen more than enough of the two veterans try to race F1 cars over umpteen seasons and would have much preferred at least one new rookie to take one of their seats.

On the positive side, another two cars for Lawson to finish ahead of.

Wonder how the Qualifying is going to work next year, has it been laid out anywhere? At a guess it's six cars out in each of Q1 and Q2, or are they going to go with seven out in Q1.

Anyway, looking forward to this weekend.
