Great P5 result from Lawson, was having to actively mange his energy throughout the lap so he could deploy it on the straight going into turn 1. Good points haul as well. Glad i got up to watch that race live.

I watched it live as well. The 11pm start is much easier on the body than the 1-2am starts haha

I used to do them. Now I've recorded and get up early birds. If for whatever reason I cant watch early birds, I cancel the internet/email for the day!

TAB has for Singapore Quali

Lando 3-00

Oscar 3-50

Max 4-00

Seems reasonable

RACE

Lando and Max   3-00

Oscar  3-50

So Lando will be strong all weekend, and Oscar will out qualify Max, but Max will roll past him in the race?

Aside from that, be an interesting race. Red Bull are poor in Singapore, but they arent really, most fails were crash and other issues. last year Lando and McLaren too good, but now, RBR21 has been solidly improved, bit of a new ball game I suspect

Liam was lucky to make Qualifying and even luckier to see the Williams cars DQ so he moved up to 12th, it was good for his chances of a drive next year that he out qualified Yuki even after having no practice time.

but is he competing against Yuki or the other 2 young RB signings?

IMO he is in. Hadjar moves up, Yuki moves down or out. Lindblad needs another year

Rumour is Alex Dunne, who is in F2 and recently left McLaren's Driver Academy (presumably because McL can't promise what he wants - a full time drive?), but unless he finishes in the F2 standings slightly higher, or comes and does the Oceania series like Lindblad did, he'll just miss out on the SL points to do F1 next year.

Good job Marko only has influence in 2 teams or 2/3 of the grid would be out.

It's just the usual paddock speculation, fueled by Marko's mouth as usual. All I've read suggests that Red Bull/Marko have only had preliminary talks with Dunne as to a possible move into their Junior program initially. I've also seen it reported that Dunne is confirmed for another season in F2 in 2026.

As for Lawson and the supposed threat his position is under, I share the opinion of those who believe he's probably already done enough to remain in a seat for next year. But for Sainz's stupidity in trying a glory move around the outside of Lawson at Zandvoort and Lawson's own stupidity in his overtake of Alonso in the Miami sprint, he would likely be sitting on 42 points in the Drivers Championship now and ahead of his much praised teammate. And, he would be sitting on that total having turned out two less times in the VCARB02 than Hadjar.

I appreciate that's a biased view, but not an unreasonable assessment of where he sits and probably should be sitting but for the Zandvoort incident. Then there's the Brit-fueled Lindblad hype train which seems to be running on fumes given his actual performance in F2. Hadjar finished second in F2 last season and was in the hunt for the title up until the last race. Lindblad is 7th and has racked up plenty of penalty points in getting there. The only way he gets a promotion to F1 next season is by an illogical Marko decision.

I'm also very interested to see which of Hadjar and Lawson is the top Racing Bulls driver come the end of the season. I wouldn't entirely discount Lawson overtaking Hadjar on recent form and Red Bull might be wise to see how that plays out before making any rash decisions about where Hadjar belongs. One thing is for certain though, that new helmet he has been running in Singapore can go back to Christchurch with its designer, the thing is jinxed.

Alex Dunne (or anyother driver who has done F2) isn't eligible to do any of the Formula Regional Series (including NZ) as the FIA rules don't allow that anymore

Ahh I missed that, then yeah Alex Dunne is unlikely unless he manages to have a clean end of season (he's approaching 12 penalty points) and score a decent chuck of points in the process to get enough SL points (going by memory from a post I saw on Friday, he's around 5th or 6th in the F2 championship at the moment, but needs 4th3rd to get enough SL points).

If Red Bull want to chase new F2 drivers for their squad, they'd be better off looking at Fornaroli. Leading the current championship, won the F3 title last season, and not affiliated with any of the F1 teams at the moment.

With Tsolov being signed to Campos Racing in F2 next season, partnering an as-yet unknown driver in the other seat, it seems like the ideal opportunity to see him and Lindblad go head to head as the two "future stars" of Red Bull. As Lindblad is currently being bested by Marti in the other seat this year, might be a good way for decide if the Brit really is the real deal against Tsolov as he's had it pretty easy up until now.

Bit unfair on Marti, one of Alonso's stable of drivers he manages, but perhaps they will ship him off to Super Formula or Fred will find him a drive elsewhere around the world.

Im picking quail order, George, Max, then Oscar

Mercedes is on it, George should lead all of the way. They are also fastest in the speed trap, so Max unlikely to get a DRS pass done unless its super early. Clean air rules

I'm jumping on the Max hype train, he'll get past Russell early or Russell will put it in the wall somewhere again. Maybe a Russell-Piastri collision that keeps the dream alive for Red Bull.

Lawson to replicate his 2023 result in Singapore and get P9.

it will be a close first 3-4 turns then whoever leads should win. unless merc uses Kimi as bait to start pitstop snowballs like last time and George stays out to build some gap or something.

not sure what Max was complaining about, he was nowhere near pole time but he (and GP) instantly blamed Lando for not getting pole. (yes Lando was very cheeky to slow down the moment he heard Max was approaching)
