Jaxson:

Hi team,

With Black Friday looming can i ask about F1 coverage on Sky TV please?

Do you get access to the race in 30 recap, and general session 10 min recap race/practise/qualifying highlights options on sky, like you do on F1 TV?

Or is it only live coverage etc?

Don't go to the dark side, Jaxson! Not having to listen to David Croft would be reason enough surely?

That's the highlights offering, looks like there's some overlap there.

The only thing you're missing are pre-shows and Notebook. The F1 TV looks to be a far superior product.

F1TV is a superior product in my opinion as I have both Sky Sports Now and F1 TV... with Sky Sports having a UHD channel soon, that might change the live experience but recorded will probably be only in 1080p... F1TV in UHD is very nice.  I think you can get teds notebook etc. via on demand but I wouldn't know as I now only use F1TV.

Thanks all.

F1TV (and I believe the 4k version will now work on my Sony Android TV) definitely still the likely plan.

Sky offering the rugby/league etc would appeal for others in our home.  Currently sourcing coverage of that in creative ways and it's not particularly reliable...

Would be more helpful from the proper sky TV guide. To answer the original question

The Sky F1 coverage is almost endless.

https://tvguide.sky.co.nz/search?query=FIA%20Formula%20One%20World%20Championship

On top of all sessions live, you get a 15 min qually highlights, 15/20 min race highlights, an extended 1 hour race highlights, a 90 min pre race and a 60 min Chequered flag (expert analysis of the race). There is also the F1 show (60 mins)

All of the above are repeated consistently over the race weekend or of course avalible ondemand on sky go or SSN (pick your poison).

Plus Ted's notebook as listed below.

Another masterclass from Red Bull Racing in F1 rules manipulation.

Max had a car that even he couldn't get out of Q1 owing to a bad bet on a setup change after the Sprint Race.
Hmmm, what do do? "If we throw a new engine into it he'll have to start from the pitlane, but we can also sort out the suspension & aero setup and give Max a car that might podium instead of being a contender for 15th place."
Genius! Give whoever thought of that a big bonus - it has enabled RBR to jump over Ferrari into 3rd place in the Constructors' Championship which is worth millions of dollars in prize money.

This is Ferrari's fault for having a clunker that can't beat a car starting last from the pit lane

Interesting development in F2 with Lindblad's teammate Marti moving on (or being moved on) to make room for Red Bull's other supposed rising star in Nikola Tsolov for the final two rounds of the season.

One way to improve Lindblad's standing in the F2 Championship I suppose. Will be a huge ask of Tsolov but if the Bulgarian manages to outshine Lindblad in the final two weekends with zero experience I wonder if that will cast further doubt on the Brit's readiness for F1 next season. Especially if Lawson and Tsunoda show enough promise in this final triple header of the season.

I don't see Tsunoda being retained. He won't go back to Racing Bulls, he's graduated from that academy. He doesn't score any points in the RB (not saying it's his fault) - why do you have a driver that scores no points. So he has no place in RB 2026.

I agree it's highly unlikely Tsunoda would return to RB but I don't think it's so clear cut that they drop him. His season being mediocre is not in doubt but, as you mention, it's not all on him. Some might suggest it's mostly the car that's the problem and not Tsunoda. Given the Red Bull's drivability issues I'm not convinced that Hadjar would do any better, especially with his firecracker temper which won't gel with a car that's difficult to control. Hadjar being able to contribute even the 150 points Perez did to a 2026 Red Bull campaign has to be a very big question mark.

Add to that the doubts surrounding Wache's ability to design a car anyone aside from Verstappen can handle and whether their PU will be a match for the Mercedes and Ferrari ones, and there may not be a lot to be gained by moving Tsunoda out and Hadjar in. Best to leave drivers where they are in this new regulations era and give them ten weekends perhaps next season to see where the land truly lays before swinging the axe.

Also have you seen the footage of Perez during testing.  He looks on it!

Saw some brief coverage of him on the web in a black Ferrari doing laps. I think I still have more faith in Bottas to be the quicker driver for Cadillac but it's definitely going to be interesting either way that battle turns out. The Merc v Ferrari v RBPT v Audi PU competition is also going to be worth getting up for.

No doubt they all think they know what they're doing but a few more engines giving out initially perhaps? Looking forward to seeing some bootleg footage from that closed session at Barcelona. Plenty of kitty litter at the ready to mop up oil spills on the track.

Has a very Murray Walker vibe to it there, akin to "Anything can happen in Formula 1; And it usually does!"
