I'm very keen to hear feedback about the 4k service on premium in NZ
Is it worth the extra $59?
are practice and quali also in 4k? how about F2 and F3?

Oddly I just got the upgrade prompt on my laptop but it didn't lead anywhere except my account?
I watch most of the races on my TV, it's the last use of my Chromecast, has an appeared for Samsung TV's by chance?

At less than $2.50 a race weekend if you have a 4K device I'd say its a no brainer.
Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+
Just watch if you're coming at this from a google android TV, as this has caused quite a stir online.
I have the F1 app loaded on my Sony TV, officially via the app store/not sideloaded, and if I read this right it's not supported for 4k.
google TV sticks/apple TV devices etc are all good for 4k, so just watch out on that one I guess is the message.

Yep this appears to be something I have hit... Upgraded to the Premium package but my TCL C845 UHD TV is only allowing HD, not UHD, despite being a decent MiniLED 4K TV from 2023... Turns out that F1TV don't have a clue about GoogleTV OS built in to TVs and it doesn't want to work at UHD despite being fully compliant!
Well that was an interesting FP1. Ferrari and RBR looking very strong.
McLaren not so, Audi looking good for a brand new team.
Aston - well the rumours were true, that was diabolical for them. They look to have some huge problems.

Yeah had it on beside me while I worked. Grim for a Honda fan.

Alonso wasn't even dressed, just in Tshirt and shorts
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Lawson has strugled in both practices , Lindblad is way quicker

he has struggled since getting a contract. i'm afraid this season might be it, it's season do or die. at least if he can just not crash into people this season.
Half a second off the rookie in both practice sessions, Lawson will be lucky to survive beyond the summer break unless he pulls his finger out. Very disappointing on Day 1 against the new kid on his first day of school.
Followed Lawson in the car for both sessions. The new engineer he has seems a lot more chatty, was feeding him plenty of info it seemed. The sound of the engine revs dropping occasionally on the straights was pretty crap. If that was intentional (rather than driver error) then this is going to be an issue for the die-hard fans.
Lawson failed on three occasions in FP1 to set a hot lap time on softs. Also pretty disappointing, if he doesn't sort that out pretty quickly the drums will start beating for his replacement.
Wow a lot of cars just dying out on circuit, loss of power for no apparent reason.
Seriously miss the v12 or v10 era watching this. Flappy bits or aero all over the place and drivers trying anything to get some power recharged etc. Doesn’t feel like proper fast racing at the moment.
Re Liam, a BIT early to tell :-) . Its not only free practice when all cars are running run plans, fuel isnt known, what they are working on isnt known. Plus its new regs as well.
Lindblad beat Hadjar and he was on mediums, so will he replace Hadjar in the Summer break??? Course not. Wait till quali, and if Liam and Lindblad have clean runs, then you can assess it then.
Last year Lindblad did a session and was nicely faster. Later Red Bull stated they turned the engine up to make it easier.
Will Lindblad want to impress? Of course. Liam may also want to make his mark, or he just sits on his speed and experience and does his run plan, points are on Sunday
Notable will be how often Lindblad gets off the black stuff in quali and in each race, that will happen

You may be correct about Lindblad , This from an article about practice
That meant he was the unlikely midfield leader in both sessions. It's something that could be explained by a generous fuel load and run plan from a Racing Bulls team keen to give him confidence.
