Not sure if it’s been mentioned here or not, and not keen on delving through 69 pages on this post to find out, but does anyone here collect Topps F1 Chrome trading cards? I have this bad habit of, if it has F1 on it, I got to buy it 🤣 Been Motorsport fan crazy for years, especially F1, it’s like a f**n drug addiction. My work must hate me Monday mornings after a race weekend lol. Anyways, if anyone collects them, let me know if you have any 2024 chrome cards you wanna trade :-)

…oh and I hope like hell they keep Lawson at racing bulls for 1 more year. Could be a career killer to get thrown back in the Red Bull seat too soon.

Las Vegas baby!! Not working tomorrow!

Day off today but too much to do, so its now 7pm so I've started ro watch FP1.

Big FFWD here Im here to watch FP1 not the Brit Lando show............

I watch a few sports, and rarely have an issue with national bias, as most commentators commentate the sport, so a small bias is no issue.

Not in F1

Norris doing the business.

Lawson doing really well under crazy tricky qualifying conditions.

Great Qualifying from Lawson , 6th and will probably move up to 5th as most experts believe Sainz will get penalized

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Great qualifying by Lawson. Out qualified Hadjar and looked a touch quicker all qualifying. Shame it doesnt sound like the race will be same conditions.

Yeah, qualifying was really hard because they need the car set up for the race which is going to be under quite different conditions.

Feel sorry for Yuki, his team put the wrong air pressure in his tyres and he had no chance of competing .

Pleased that Lawson got the better of Hadjar when it counted in Qualifying though, to hear Hadjar tell it in the pen afterwards, the Parisian thought he had a fair bit of bad luck with the late yellow flag ruining his potential P4 grid position. Lawson also had bad luck (or bad management) by being a couple of seconds away from getting another lap in Q3. Even if he had managed to get to the line in time he would have hit the Leclerc yellow as he came around anyway, so not sure any better than P6 was going to be on the cards for the Kiwi.

Sounds like there could still be a bit of rain about this afternoon, if not actual precipitation then a damp track. Lawson's strength is his race-pace generally but they are going to have to learn the lessons from Baku and make sure they have a really fast start. Sainz was able to get his podium there because he got off the line quick and put distance between him and Lawson, who eventually got swallowed up by Russell and Antonelli.

Lawson has to make sure he stays right on the gearbox of Piastri, even if it compromises his tires initially. RB seem too willing to go into tire management mode from the start rather than trying to keep with the leaders. Too many very fast drivers behind him to try and start a DRS train and hold the pack back.

Sky NZ is showing that coverage of the Las Vegas GP will be on "Sky Sports 1 UHD", so maybe the coverage will be in 4K

🤞

Interesting. The ssn guide shows the ashes on sky sports 1 uhd and f1 on sky sports 1...think the guide is messed up as the uhd channel is showing f1.

Disastrous race for Liam... think he was avoiding Hadjar but he was going to hit him or Piastri. If the VSC had come out a bit earlier he might have got back in the points. But feel that was a silly mistake and utterly ruined his great qualifying.

Agreed. He moved across to the right and hit Piastri to avoid hitting the car in front. Either way he was going to hit someone, a really stupid mistake and probably motivated by his initial mistake of moving to the centre of the track off the line and allowing Hadjar to get past him on the inside.

You get the impression he "panicked" at being done like a dinner by his teammate before T1. If he had held his line from the start, Hadjar would have been blocked up the inside and had to try and go around Lawson on the right hand side. His wheel to wheel racecraft continues to be terrible. I don't know if this is something he can practice in the sim but he surely needs to do some work on it.

He was very contrite on the radio on the cooldown lap, admitting it was his mistake and apologising to the team. He is making life difficult for himself if he hopes to retain his seat. Meanwhile Hadjar goes about his business without any fuss and banks points again.

Great race for Verstappen, will be interesting to see if there is enough fuel in Norris' car for the inspection. Will blow the WDC wide open if the stewards can't get a sample and Norris is DQ'ed.

Just saw both McLaren‘s under investigation for exceeding the minimum plank wear/too little thickness after the race. Both McLaren drivers could face disqualification which would be a huge points haul for Max in the championship!
