Jaxson:

Just saw both McLaren‘s under investigation for exceeding the minimum plank wear/too little thickness after the race. Both McLaren drivers could face disqualification which would be a huge points haul for Max in the championship!

i can't see how they don't get DQ-ed. it's a black and white rule. no grey.

Yep. This is huge news. Will cut Landos lead to 24 points and Max would be equal with Oscar. Wow the next 2 races and a sprint just got a hell of a lot more interesting!

Terrible for Liam after such a strong qually. Just ruined his own race

FIA at it again to "make F1 more interesting" and give teamverstappen another great story to tell...

The only way the FIA could be "at it again" would be not enforcing the minimum plank thickness rule.

Was Lawson's damage that slowed him on lap 2 from the earlier touch with Piastri? He said the leading cars slowed in turn 1 more than he expected, the car in front of him was smoking all wheels. I think they were spooked by Norris.

It’s official. Both out but still right of appeal. Black and white though.
Nice race Kimi.
Max and Oscar level points.
2 races to go.

Don't really care for F1. but smells of FIA making it interesting.

I also see the rule is 9mm not 9.00mm. 3.5.9 - here https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/documents/fia_2025_formula_1_technical_regulations_-_issue_03_-_2025-04-07.pdf
Last time I went to school, 8.51mm = 9mm...

Wonder if Oscar got the same 'slow down' message that Lando seemed to get.

Oscar plank wore a lot more. We know he didn't slow down. They probably tried to sabotage him.

Disastrous race for Liam... think he was avoiding Hadjar but he was going to hit him or Piastri. If the VSC had come out a bit earlier he might have got back in the points. But feel that was a silly mistake and utterly ruined his great qualifying.

unfortunately it's just Liam Lawson doing Liam Lawson things, not the first or second or third time this has happened this year. hope he gets another year.

Verstappen said Norris was probably concentrating on his mirrors and lost awareness of how deep he'd gone into the corner before braking. Whether that sucked the others into late braking or Russell wanted to stay out of a possible Lando Max collision, Russell stood on the brakes. Lawson couldn’t see what was happening at the front. If it hadn't damaged his wing it would have been a great save. From a RB perspective Piastri was a better target than the back of Russell's car.

I see no issue with Liam's drive, typical turn 1 issue, that you see each and every race

George braked a tad sooner, Oscar turned in a bit, Liam locked up a bit, standard fare in Ff1. Very minor turn 1 issue but he was unlucky that it did the damage it did

I watched it over and over this morning, thats my take

Liam's already owned up to it saying it was his own fault.

I thought he was coming in too hot in the first corner - although racing karts myself I know the mental games your brain plays, not wanting to concede a place, but I think he needs to relent sometimes and think of the long game and the cars he's actually competing against in a tier 2 car (certainly not against McClaren). He just needs to score points (especially to secure a  seat for next year) even if that means qualifying 6th and finishing 7th, better than not scoring points at all. He needs to stay a little more composed and keep showing he's a mature driver as he is pretty agrgessive, just like Max is.
