Regards,

old3eyes: I still remember being 6 nil in San Francisco and losing 7 to 6. Hope we don't have a repeat.
That's exactly what's in the back of my mind. Will never forget that day - when we unexpectedly ran out of time - in the days before any of us knew the races had time limits. Nothing like that memory to keep us grounded.
Also IIRC, Ainslie was on that boat with Spithill.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Actually, Oracle Team USA defended the America's Cup by a score of 9 to 8 after Team New Zealand had built an 8 to 1 lead.
Sorry to be picky
Is the top speed of either of these boats 50 knots give or take?
Because I am lazy, what time is racing tomorrow (hopefully, for the win?).
Still burned by San Fran, but really starting to think we threw those two races mid week so there wouldn't be two full shore days for the Brits to make some radical changes. That was man issue with San Fran, too many shore days and they made enough of a change to become faster.
The results today were outstanding.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
hairy1: I think Nathan Outteridge's comment at the end of the race intimated the light winds tomorrow a he said something about "I hope you enjoyed the wind as that's it for a couple of days"
I heard Peter Burling say the wind conditions were more like he is experienced to in the Hauraki Gulf. So he pretty familar with picking up wind shifts and puffs of wind. Something it appears the Brits are not used to.

THE AMERICAS CUP, IS, STILL NEW ZEALAND'S CUP - Peter Montgomery Voice, much better than Stephen McIvor lack lustre statements, 50-100m before the finish line.

About that. Any faster and the foils cavitate.
Thanks.
Well I won't talk about the win, which is great, but the commentary.
Prefacing this comment with the proviso I know very little about sailing but follow the AC every few years or so.
In the final I thought I heard three male voices. One the normal commentator whose names eludes me but clearly has liitle expert sailing knowledge and had this habit of pronouncing Vuiton as "V' "you-ee" ton with a pronounced unnecessary accent. And his favourite term appears to be "there is nothing in it".
And then during a final interview he said something like "I am not an expert in yachting but..." or words to that effect.
The other commentator appeared to be an Aussie, spoke in a more measured tone and appeared to be an expert. Don't know who that person is but he provided useful comments.
I did recognise Peter Lester whose expert views I thought were very useful and of course Shirley :-)

A great win. Im not a sailor, my expertise is based on watching AC for years.
We were just a bit too good. As I posted recently, we lose the start but we are still there, even if we lose the race. If we win the start, its goodbye. The boats seem pretty even, so its down to the sailors.
The sailors won
And so begins the public blacklash for them no doubt pushing for another Funding boost to defend it next time.
Was it not sold as a need to hold the talent within the team etc. When the protocol was changed to require more home nationality.
It has been agreed a new crew nationality rule will require 100% of race crews to either be a passport holder of the country the team's yacht club as of 19 March 2021 or to have been physically present in that country (or, acting on behalf of such a yacht club in Auckland, the venue of the 36th America's Cup Events)
Whether that stands remains to be seen.
