The annual 24 Hours of Le Mans race is this weekend, but as usual, the only coverage here will be via the interweb
This years running also marks the 50th anniversary of when 2 kiwi's won the race outright (Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon) in a Ford GT40 Mk II
Fittingly, this year there are kiwi's racing as well, with a chance of claiming outright victory and class wins.
- Brendon Hartley competing in the LMP1 class with the Factory Porsche (Porsche 919 Hybrid, car #1)
- Scott Dixon competing in the LM GTE-Pro with the 'Factory' Ford GT run by Chip Ganassi racing (Ford GT, car # 69)
- Earl Bamber competing in the LM GTE-Pro with the Factory Porsche (Porsche 911 R, car #92)
- Richie Stanaway competing in the LM GTE-Pro with Aston Martin (Aston Martin Vantage, car # 97)
Ideally, to mark the occasion, an outright win by the Hartley car and class win for Dixon would be awesome.
Brendon Hartley has marked the occasion with a special helmet
Any one else going to be following the race?
