Bring it.
Won't be joining formally until we've not had sky for 6 months. After that we'll take that cheap deal again if it's still on offer.
Will be post race downloads until then...
So Delta Topco will no longer be running Formula 1: https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2017/1/liberty-media_s-f1-takeover-given-fia-approval.html
I guess this means the end of the Bernie Ecclestone era...

Here is that in detail
"Liberty, Formula One Group and the FIA intend to collaborate to create a constructive relationship that will ensure the continued success and the development of the FIA Formula One World Championship in the long term."
In other words, anybody's guess. Of more interest is what new stuff will Liberty bring to F1, as they will be chasing spectator growth.
Every season, the new cars, their new features, give us a generally fresh grid. What happened in Abu Dhabi isnt what happens in Melbourne.
Mercs excellent package took that away. Lets hope the grid is shaken up a bit. I want three top teams to be at each others heels

Bernie is out. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/motorsport/88701820/bernie-ecclestone-f1-era-over-as-chase-carey-takes-the-reins--report
This is good news
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
Huh, only just catching up on this news. Interested to see what actually comes of this.
i dont think weve seen the last of bernie, im going to miss 'hendo and his mates' much more for 2017
Can't wait for the unveilings. Read somewhere Mclaren might be going for a classic orange livery. That would make them stand out way better than the black they've got currently.
Nice! Orange would be cool. Then again, anything's better than the black. It's always looked so...dull? Either way, change is good. Looking forward to it.

McLaren do that every year, and then produce some rubbish scheme...
Fast forward 4 years or so and we should have something different. Ross Brawn in involved now and the new crowd seem to be focussing on the experience, including digital coverage.
That's good news if you're not interested in much else, and have a high/unlimited usage data plan.
"That's good news if you're not interested in much else"
I don't see what you mean.

Sky is expensive if all you want is the F1.
An internet source for this could be cheaper than a full Sky package just to get F1.
If you are interested in multiple sports/want rugby as well etc, then Sky is a good deal (and the only deal available presently).

Tks for clarification. The $39 Sky deal in the thread here includes sport, and Fanpass has a $56 month option which is less over the season, and day/week options too, to help reduce cost.
Unsure how an internet option would work as Sky has the rights, and I assume the 2017 season is locked up. But interesting to see how it plays out.
