What does everyone reckon? Ive watched maybe a couple of Wilder highlights, he looks tall and lanky not the usual heavyweight. I was very impressed by Fury's talk recently, after the weigh in. Level headed and composed, not the usual wild guy, but a focussed and level headed guy. TAB has Wilder the favourite but not dominating. IIRC the reach is similar, so should be a good contest. Sentimental favourite is Fury, so I hope thats the result.

Hard call. Wilder is faster and very unconventional - to the point where he seems to lose his rag and starts clubbing his opponents rather than hitting them. Fury, although slower, seems to have more power behind his punches and is a lot more conventional. Its a good match up and both can take punishment but I'll call Wilder by a slim margin simply because of the speed factor and the unusual angles he punches from. That said, if he gets cocky like he often does and catches a big fist on the way in it could be big trouble for him as Fury is very good at pressing home the attack once he senses an edge.

I wouldn't call Fury more conventional. He is all over the place stable wise, its difficult to have a plan against him as Klitchsko found out. He had no idea what Fury would do next. Wilder, yes, can be wild, and Eric Molina rocked him big time. He can be very vulnerable, plus he hasn't fought many good names, so he cannot rely on his class, as he is up against a big name now.

UK fighter just blew away his USA opponent inside the first round, might be one of those nights.

Fury by KO, if he's anywhere near close to the level he fought Wlad then Wilder shouldn't have much more than a punchers chance.

Bold. Wilder did well to beat Ortiz, a match they both rocked each other, so he can take a punch. But you would not rate Ortiz at the very top level.

I wonder if Wilder will be defensive, play not to get hit. If he fights his normal way, he will be exposed. But he needs to punch to win.Im picking a tentative start for Wilder.

Very good fight, but with two knockdowns, I was surprised it was a split decision draw.

Their first 8 rounds were even, not many punches landed, Wilder threw many and many missed, Fury avoided brilliantly. The two knockdowns could have gone either way, all depends who got them in first, and Wilder has had the wobbles in the Molina and Ortiz matches, but he got the big hits in first.

What annoyed me was Fury advanced more in the latter rounds, and with 15 seconds to go, he just stood there. That is strange. He may have needed that round to win, but he didnt want to fight the last 15 seconds

They both reckon they are the two best fighters, I think thats not far off the truth.

The Mexican judge was 3-5 after 8, but still must have been watching a totally different fight.

The very last part of the 12th they were both gassed as, Wilder slowed up after the 2nd lockup after the knockdown.

I think Fury was unlucky, he shoulda been ahead on points and getting up after that 2nd knockdown, sheesh, tough. At least we get a good rematch out of it, I think Wilder will bet better next time but not sure about Fury.

Top, yes 3-5.

No rematch. Wilder will go fo AJ, easier. I also don't think he will be better. He is an explosive hitter, because he can be, but when he fights someone decent such as Molina or Ortiz, he got hit bad, credit to him he hung on and won. You wont be beating the best if they can manage you as Fury did. Fury took away his big punches, there were so many wild swings. Fury was underdone, he will improve a lot, notwithstanding he has proven to himself he is at the pointy end of the boxing table.

Wilder was outboxed. But AJ will be easier.

I just don't see Parker as being in the same class as these two.

Despite the fact that he had a title belt at one stage, I still see that the two that fought yesterday would absolutely slaughter Parker and if he has any delusions that he can compete with these guys he really needs to watch this over and over to get it in his head...and Kevin Barry's.

That said, Fury was robbed, plain and simple. He got knocked down twice, so two 10-8 rounds, but other than that, he dominated this fight and would've been so far ahead on points in a fair and just world.

Agree. Below this level is Ortiz, who would beat him badly. Also Whyte who he can match. He needs to knock Flores out big time in round 1, or that fight against a 179 ranked boxer will further reduce him. If he got fitter, and got mongrel in him, he can go after those ranked 5 to 15. May as well do that, then he can settle into a long and steady and financially good career on undercards

To be honest I wouldn't pay $0.01 for a Parker fight. I know that's how they fund the purse, but the PPV prices are outrageous for a fighter with very little to appeal to an armchair fan...

Agree fully. On the surface, his unbeaten career was stopped by AJ, nothing bad about that, and went close with Whyte, so he still has a great CV SUPPOSEDLY

But, what he displays is poor. Solid, stable, reliable. That wont cut it anywhere. He has no attack, he has a good chin but who wants to watch a fighter with a good chin? We want to see a dogged, skilled contest and you wont get that with Parker. If he hammered Flores (as he MUST do), I'd pay $15 to see him against a top 20 fighter, max.
