So now that the boring season of processional driving has concluded, It's time for some more fun open wheeler sports cars.. Formula E

This year we now also have a tin-top support class the "Jaguar I-Pace eTROPHY" (only 10 rounds)
These classes both feature a Kiwi. Mitch and Simon Evans - The sons of Motorsport Legend Owen Evans.

From F1 to Formula E - Stoffle Vandrome

Formula E
Rounds: 13
Teams: 11
Drivers: 22

Jaguar I-Pace eTROPHY
Rounds: 10
Teams: 5
Drivers: 8

Formula E, I'm not a huge fan.

But i did watch this film from the YouTube channel Carfection (formerly XCar Films)

One of there people driving both the first gen style car, and the new car for the upcoming season (season 5)

Im not a fan of it just yet but Im a huge fan of the concept. And damn these cars arent slow.

It would be interesting to see if a F1 driver could deliver in FE.

We all know the dilemma with how much fossil fuels are left so it has to happen, sooner the better so fossil fuels are stretched out for essential human needs until they too can be replaced.

Who are the drivers to watch out for?

Too many beers Justy?

I watched some Formula E, could not get into it. Really keen to give it a crack. Mitch was in it but at the back in a weekend I watched.

Are these cars powertrain identical?

Bahaha, note quite. It was a curiosity question. Been watching F1 since I was a kid, I can remember watching before safety was such a huge focus and the 1.5 engines.

Been heavily into MotoGP though since Ive held a bike license.

My Father in law is good friends with BMW Motorsports and always has a new sports car before they get RRP'd and done the Nürburgring a lot. Hes a Moto Guzzi guy though and Im heavily Triumph naked bikes. Mercedes was there right at the beginning of it all.

My question was simply curiosity to see what they would make of it. Surely one of them has given it a go. Id like to get their impression on the cars on track. I dont know what anything was implied, thats a reverse troll. :-)

Yes MotoGP is my favourite, although F1 is the passion, but it cannot match MotoGP as a spectacle

Nope, not too many beers. you heard right Stoffle is racing FE - he's racing for HWA Racelab

Power trains are not identical, there is a number of them. I will attempt to post the drivers and teams again (last time it posted messed up)

Nope, not too many beers. you heard right Stoffle is racing FE - he's racing for HWA Racelab

Power trains are not identical, there is a number of them. I will attempt to post the drivers and teams again (last time it posted messed up)

Cheers. The beers comment was re Stoffle Vandrome its actually Stoffell Vandoorne :-) I liked the Vandrome though!

Yup - my TVHeadend has already populated recordings when they appeared in the EPG since I have Formula E on auto-record. TVNZ Duke once again.

This year off the top of my head there are at least 3 ex F1 drivers may be more.

Felipe Massa, Stoffel Vandoorne, Nelson Piquet jr, Sébastien buemi
