The good news is my discovery that I can use my Sky credentials to log in to Bein Connect and stream their content, allowing me to watch live (Dutch) Eredivisie football.

The bad news is my user experience.  On a hardwired PC using Chrome, it spends more time buffering than playing.  I'm on a 2Degrees 100/20 fibre connection (with static IP).

Using Vodafone 4G, Chrome on Android mobile phone is a little bit better.

Using the Android app on my tablet (over WiFi then fibre) it is reasonably watchable but I'd like better in today and age.  Still get frequent buffering and dropping back to lo-res.

Buffering occurs with both live streams and on-demand content.

Are there any others here who watch Bein sports online willing to share their experience, or maybe do some testing?  I'm not averse to changing ISP, been considering moving to Sky Broadband and this could be the trigger.

( I also posted this question in the Sky topic but received no responses, though I'd try here.)

I've used it quite a bit and have no problems with streaming. Typically use it on my iPad or iPhone or Chromecast with Google TV and works well.
Buffering could be related to several issues including the devices ability to decode the stream the etc. Older devices might struggle if they are not performant.

But not issues streaming Bein Sports. Been using it for years. Im with Orcon on the Vocus Network but was with 2degrees until earlier this year and never had issues either. All my devices are over wifi.

I always found it's quality quite lacking (On apple TV app).  Way below sky sport now, or sky go.   If I was trying to watch football, I'd normally end up on BBC or iTV

@Jiriteach , @davidcole Thank you both, two very different experiences there.

I'm fairly confident it's not an issue with the devices, they're not particularly old and perform well with pretty much every other streaming service.

Am I right in thinking this could well be to do with routing and peering?

The Eredivisie doesn't appear to be available on any other media (except bet365 but that's like watching it on a matchbox over dial-up).

I can save some beer money by changing ISP so maybe it's time, I'm always just a little anxious that someone will break something in the process, and it could of course make it worse (looking at Sky broadband, who I believe re-sell Vocus as well)

I've used it for years.

On iPad, it's OK, same with iPhone.

On computer it's been slightly less successful - occasional buffering and substandard picture quality.

on Apple TV, it's pretty awful - very low quality picture and a clunky interface.

Makes both Sky Go and Spark Sport look like they're from the future.

Over the last few days I've watched a couple of live WC qualifiers.  One on hardwired, fibre connected chromecast, the other on mobile on 4G.

Both were absolutely flawless, no buffering and good-res.

I'm wondering if they wind bandwidth into their streaming sources up or down according to the bigness of the event?  (Is this even technically feasible, I don't really have a clue.)
