ThreeNOW will be streaming MotoGP but it’s only live.  Seems strange that fans who don’t want to wait for highlights-only package, a week later, can only see European rounds if they are happy to watch in the middle of the night.
So I’m wondering if the streams will be recordable if signal from TV set outputs is run into a DVR.

Well that's disappointing. I won't be watching. Three Now talk themselves up and then don't deliver. British Superbikes kindly made a live stream available for NZ after Sky Sports stopped broadcasting their races but I couldn't find a way to record the races and I think it was just the main races, no supersport or superstock.

I think you'll find that your TV only has INPUTS rather than outputs.

Plug it all in and see if it works...

Obviously the TV needs to stay on and streaming the whole time...

Id be sending 3Now a facebook message DM and ask them what the plan is for VOD after each race to simply confirm.

(sometimes they can be slow making it available on the site)

On the MotoGP website, it says NZ - AVOD and FTA

remember you are dealing with a company whose trying to slash broadcast costs...and that might include not forking extra for the rights to make VOD available after the live event.

EDIT: if its being broadcast on FTA, then does the said DVR have a PAL input/Tuner?

Already had this advice from Three, pretty sure there will be nothing offered on demand :

“….

Kia ora,

Moto GP will be airing all races Live on ThreeNow. Look for the Three Sport pop-up channel on our Live TV section the day of each race. The content is only being offered LIVE.

You can find some highlights of the races in the CRC Motorsport programme. Try searching for "CRC Motorsport" on ThreeNow…..”

Anyway I will post whatever recording outcome I get.

The issue here is that when a broadcaster puchases the right to an event, they do so on certain criteria. There a broadcast rights, streaming rights and on-demand rights and its likely that Three have only purchased the rights to stream the event but not provide it on-demand. The on-demand rights in this region may have been awarded to another provider.

I think you can buy a free trial or single month and yearly passes from motoGP itself.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I was under the impression that you can watch it on TVNZ on demand. Providing you can install their app on one of your devices.

Would hate to miss this season as really got into it in 2023 but don't think I love it enough to buy the season pass.

Looks like ThreeNow are making Motogp races available to watch "on demand". The Portugal races from this weekend are up anyway so I hope on demand will be for all rounds.

USA sprint race is now available VOD.  Looks like 3 have got it sorted.
