There would be no downgrade/upgrade - the seats are all the same. They just wont get the meal and movies while you will.



My understanding is that the works seats are in a different part of the plane (Front and Mid) physically from the seat only (Rear).


 



You might just be thinking about the gold seats rows 1-13 on domestic flights. Reserved for Gold/Elite members to pick first

I’ve had other passengers offer to swap to bring our family closer together. Just be sure to check with the attendant.

Haha yes I can imagine the prospect of being alone with 2 little kids for an entire 3 hour flight when their parents are nowhere to be seen could have that side effect :)
