prelim report points to metal fatigue

 

 

 

In this post-Covid world where airlines are dealing with significant falls in revenue, one thing that does worry me is will some airlines be short cutting maintenance as a consequence?

 

(I'm not suggesting this is a cause in this case, it's just a general concern I have with flying in future).

Wouldn't be the first time, pretty sure an Alaska Air plane went down because of maintenance extensions. The mothballing of such a large number of airplanes is also going to present potential edge case issues with long term storage





Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

That was a pretty impressive engine destruction, Its bloody lucky the cowling hit the ground outside, could have made quite the mess if it hit a house and or a person or a person and or people inside said house.

 

 

Well it did ding his truck on the way past..
