@steve98 I just added flight details both manually and automatically. All went smooth, the auto option pulled all relevant info from the PDF document.

With regard to the car parking putting it as "other" under "activities", this means that you're only able to select one time that it occurs, so two entries have to be made for the one booking.

Could I suggest that an option for car parking can be added somewhere appropriate which takes into account the arrival and departure times.

My example here is that I've got airport parking booked while I'm away, and there's a pre-set arrival and departure time which would be nice if it showed up in the itinerary list with everything else.

Perhaps the "restaurants" box could become "car parking" or something, and restaurant bookings could be listed under the "activities" box.

The key benefit of Tripit to me is the ability to forward booking emails to it from various airlines, rental car companies and hotels and it somehow manages to pick the eyes out of them and get it into its calendar.

For private travel the email feature is great. It’s even better for business travel - it’s integrated to our booking system so everything just automagically appears. We get Tripit pro with that as well.

Another Tripit user here and likewise, I really depend on it. I’ve looked at the Tripit Pro paid option but don’t think its features are of much benefit to me. The key benefit of Tripit to me is the ability to forward booking emails to it from various airlines, rental car companies and hotels and it somehow manages to pick the eyes out of them and get it into its calendar. It also deals nicely with duplicates and clashes created by flight schedule changes.

Great to see a challenger in this space to push along the innovation. Watching with interest.

Hi John, thanks for this. At this stage we don't have the ability to add by forwarding emails but it's on my trello board and we do have an exciting alternative that is already live for flights, rental cars and hotels -- you can simply upload your booking PDFs and Travvl will figure out the details and add it to the trip. It will capture dates, place, costs (including deposits / paid), even if the PDF contains multiple flights. It will also store a copy of the PDF itself so you can download it again whenever you need.

Let me know if you'd like an invite, if you haven't asked for one already.

Steve

For it to be viable for me it really needs the email automation and an app that stores data offline.

I travel a bit for work and 2-3 overseas trips a year for private travel and the Tripit workflow is really embedded now. To change I’d need a compelling reason.

Gotcha! Will definitely have a think about the best way to implement this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good luck! The space could do with some disruption. Tripit is ok but they haven’t done much with it in many years.
