They will likely get a nicer Xmas dinner than what is dished up in some USA jails.  Bail would be out of the question you'd think.

Some average hardworking bloke and his wife arrested:

Neighbors and aquaintances feel it's the wrong people.

The town where they live is known for airport objections. There is no indication yet that the couple have any views of that nature so far.

Name suppression doesn't seem to be such a thing in countries other than NZ.  If you're arrested/charged for an offence in the UK and other countries, you'd expect your name to be published unless there are good reasons not to (eg protection of children).

other good reasons include prejudice for a related trial. bans on media reporting seem common in the UK for that reason.

WTF!?: “[it is] always a possibility that there may not have been any genuine drone activity in the first place”

Not surprising, mass hysteria is a real thing and drones have been talked up to a fever pitch to both pilots and the travelling public

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

They were able to identify one, state it was an industrial model and sold at only a few outlets. One buzzed the control tower. Now they may not have existed?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Gatwick drone hoax? Police admit Christmas ruining drone may not have existed

SUSSEX Police have admitted the drone which brought chaos to Gatwick airport and ruined Christmas for more than 140,000 may never have existed at all.

The startling claim came as investigating officers released two people without charge and insisted they were not back to square one. However, when pressed on whether there may not have been a drone at all an officer admitted that was a possibility. Now police have been forced to defend their investigation amid suspicions the 67 reported drone sightings were all false alarms.

I think that he was pressured, and off course anything is possible when the cause has not yet been found, so the media latched onto this making it a news story

Has it been established that this part of the saga actually happened?   Let's hope it wasn't a huge attack of imagination, plus lack of sleep,  plus caffeine, plus keyboard, type event submitted by some reporter.

It happened, there were IIRC, 67 sightings, one or more when they ID'ed the model
