There are disturbing reports of serious issues with fatigue management for Emirates and FlyDubai pilots.

Among other things it appears pilots are being ranked down if they take a sickie or self report which is not a great safety incentive.

The chair of Emirates Air is also the chair of the UAE aviation authority which is not a good look for the independence of that function:
