I'm getting mixed views from AIRNZ

Can my wife use a eVoucher Koru pass on her own

Note this is earned from a joint platinum airpoints card which shares my airpoints

One part airnz says no it can only be used as a guest pass i.e. if I am with my wife, another says yes

It would seem that some at AIRNZ are of the belief that my wife and joint card earning holder is no different to a 'guest' who is not a joint airpoints card holder

Shared accounts mean very little.

Is the e-voucher showing on your Air NZ account or hers? If it's on yours, the answer is no. She can't use it when visiting by herself.

There isn't really a need to because there isn't anything really to ask them.

The person who has their Airpoints # linked to the credit card is the one who gets the APD earn and also earns the e-vouchers for lounge and parking. If this is the OP then he's the only one who can redeem these vouchers, however you can redeem multiple vouchers at once and take somebody as a guest. The Air NZ website link above explains this.

A quick check of your myairnz account will show who has the e-vouchers.

Having a Shairpoints account means very little - this only allows you to gift APD earn with another person who is linked to your Shairpoints. You cannot gift e-vouchers.

Pretty sure (in fact i just read it again to confirm) the email that came with the evouchers say "the same applies to [my wife]" meaning she has 100% rights to use the voucher by herself

To use it you (your wife) just show up at the lounge and scan get boarding pass and the green light of joy will welcome her in. Of course if he wants to be sure just email them to confirm.

I don't know the answer, but if she is part of your sharepoints membership, she should have access to the epasses on her mobile, so they would possibly just never know?

Shairpoints = NO

But the main issue is OP's wife is "joint holder of airpoints credit card".

For me, at least according to the email that gets sent with the evouchers, my wife = same rights to the evouchers as me.

For OP, presumably the email says the same.

An email from the Koru lounge people said no but I have asked them to confirm and I waiting. A private response from their facebook pages was yes after checking

This is how it is used "When you arrive at the Koru Lounge simply present your Airpoints card or boarding pass and our system will automatically recognise you are entitled to Lounge access"

I will get wife to present her boarding pass [booked with airpoints] and her airpoints CC [linked to my airpoints] and see what happens

The actual email saying I have eVouchers is ambiguous too

NB: Interesting last time I traveled, I use Koru lounge twice and only one showed as redeemed on my airpoints so it seems there systems are not consistent in redeeming

Who is your bank? The answer is both yes and no, so will vary depending on who your bank is. If you're not with Kiwbank the answer is no. Kiwibank is the only bank that allows shared use IF you have both Airpoints numbers linked to a card.

The simplest way to check is to do what I mentioned above - if she logs into her myairnz account if she sees the e-vouchers listed they can be used by her. If she doesn't it's not possible for her to use them.

e-vouchers are linked to your Air NZ account, there is no need to show a card as the e-vouchers will be automatically deducted.

The very simple answer to your question is no - she doesn't have access to your e-vouchers when traveling by herself. No amount of questioning Air NZ will change that.

The only bank that offers what you want is Kiwibank. The terms and conditions of both the banks and Airpoints are very straight forward so I'm surprised others are also confused about what's on offer as well.

I'm assuming you're with ANZ? The terms and conditions of the card make it very clear that it's only the primary card holder who has gets the vouchers - "The primary account holder can earn two complimentary single entry Air New Zealand Lounge passes per $20,000 spent on eligible purchases each year" http://www.anz.co.nz/personal/credit-cards/airpoints-visa-platinum/

It would appear you are correct, to their credit [excuse the pun] and as you point out Kiwibank make explicit what I expect https://www.kiwibank.co.nz/personal-banking/credit-cards/airpoints-credit-cards/airpoints-and-benefits/#koru-lounge-passes.

But I see it has the caveat the joint card holder requires their own airpoints account [which my wife has] has but the evouchers were against for mine [for her spending]

In my view it is somewhat silly since if my wife had her own airpoints CC against her own airpoints account we wouldn't have this issue which somewhat defeats the purpose of a joint CC account as it encourages one to have separate accounts in this respect

Maybe time to xfer back to Kiwibank on their next CC promotion lol

All - an update, my wife did enter a koru lounge as the kind staff decided to let her in but only because it was Mothers Day and not because of an eVoucher. Good on AIRNz

I am waiting to a comment from ANz as to whether they will change their T&Cs [to be like Kiwibank] and or whether they can add my wifes airpoints # to her additional card

Openmedia - I assume your wife has her own airpoints # different to your one ?
