Are there restrictions on food in carry on baggage on domestic air travel?

In general most things should be fine. But you can always check with the airline to be sure.

Only things that would likely cause issues are any foods that would be considered dangerous goods. Like very high alcohol content alcohol due to fire risk. There might be an issue with aerosol especially if they use a flammable propellant for example aerosol whipped cream.

You can't actually take any aerosol products that are not healthcare related as carry on. So whipped cream or more commonly (which I know people who have been caught out by) compressed air are banned.

There are no LAG restrictions or food restrictions on domestic flights. Take hot food though that smells and you'll probably get the crew telling you off.

You aren't allowed mentos and coke due to IED concerns.

As to smelly food ... it seemed to be a thing to take KFC to Raro when we flew there .. the whole plane smelled like the stuff.
