Are they able / allowed to pick up from curb side at Auckland Domestic terminal ?
TIA.

It was about 2-3 months when I last tried, you can get picked up at the airport - but won't be right outside the terminal.
Last two times I've been asked to walk out by the driver and be picked up in the car-park opposite the terminal instead.
Any comments made are my personal views and does not represent those of my employer
Are they able to? Yes
Are they allowed to? That's a very different question!
I've had a number of pickups from the drop off area. You typically just have the driver calling you to confirm the exact location.
Officially, no. But when did Uber ever worry about rules and regs?

Picking up and dropping off from public areas shouldn't be illegal though. There isn't anything illegal per se bout using these areas, and it's only loser is the airport company that are missing out clipping the ticket for $5 or whatever it is in Auckland for each drop-off and pickup.

Not looking to start a debate on the whole Uber subject thanks.
Thank you to the 2 helpful replys.

Off topic sorry but thought I'd share. I was forced to pay my own way in from the airport the other day and was too tight to shell out more on the taxi fare than on the plane ticket. I got the skybus into the CBD as was actually pleasantly surprised. Online ticketing system, frequent departures, phone scanners that actually worked, on-board wifi, and no inane no chit chat from the driver.

I have looked at that, as our hotel is in the CBD. Uber would be only half the time (IMO, 60 mins on bus) and is only $6 to $8 more expensive for the wife & I.

Everytime I've used Skybus there has been no air conditioning and it is stinking hot.

AIUI, the roads in the immediate environs of the airport buildings are not actually public roads - they are part of the airport itself and the airport is entitled to establish Ts & Cs for their use. The airport would point out that they pay for those roads and they are entitled to a bit of ticket clipping.

As Wellington airport discovered this is not a simple open and shut case. Attempting to tresspass somebody over a civil matter of payments opens up a whole can of worms that could be seen to be extortion.
