Hi everyone,

Quick question: Can my friends and I access the Auckland Koru Lounge (International) en-route to Melbourne flying JetStar? I am Air NZ Gold Elite so I am usually entitled to bring in 5 guests but I have a strong feeling everyone needs to be on an air nz or *alliance ticketed flight as they make us scan boarding passes...

Can I present my Air NZ Elite card for access??

Thanks

K

Nope. You need to be on a Star Alliance Ticket.

Your lounge entitlements are only valid if you hold an eligible ticket (indeed NZ or *A).. JQ tickets don't hold any entitlement to an NZ lounge

If you want lounge access the Emperor lounge is only $49 per person.

Is it good? I am flying in August without the benefit of my wife (who is both Koru and Gold) so can't get into the Koru (and it is way too much money for me to buy my own membership for the handful of flights I do in a year).

I do have Priority Pass with my Westpac credit card which I often use overseas but I do not think there are PP lounges in NZ.

The Emperor Lounge is a Priority Pass lounge. You'd need to check the rules of your card and the lounge but I believe you get one free visit there per year for a NZ card.

The new Emperor Lounge might be open by August. It's much bigger than the old one.

Cool - I get top tier PP membership (unlimited lounge visits at  no cost) on the membership tier I have, so that solves that!

Which Westpac card do you have? The Airpoints World Mastercard. If its unlimited priority pass access then I might look at moving cards!
