I was wondering how to make it so google maps will give accurate directions to a location

We have recently been camping at Kai Iwi Lakes at Taharoa Domain Kai Iwi Lakes Camping Ground. which is at the eastern end of the big lake. problem is google maps wont give you accurate directions there it takes you the wrong way and also tells you have to walk.

There is a private road open 7am -930pm that you need to go down (Domain Road) to get to the camp ground but google maps wont use that.

The link to where it is is below

How do i go about getting it so the directions are actually accurate?

Thanks

You can do additional info suggests that then flag up (not in Lite mode)

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps . Make sure you're signed in.
  2. In the top left, click Menu Menu and then Send feedback and then Edit the map.
  3. Follow the instructions.
  4. Click Submit.

Jase2985: ... There is a private road ...

Personally, I think this is very much the reason why Google doesn't use the road.

Then surely they could make it so the driving directions to the camp take you to the beginning of the road not somewhere 25 odd km away, but "closer" to the actual camp.

If you already know how to get there, what do you need Maps for?

not a really helpful response.

the reason im asking is in their booking email is they have in bold "PLEASE DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS FOR DIRECTIONS.  THEY ARE INCORRECT!  PLEASE FOLLOW THE STREET SIGN DIRECTIONS"

would like to have it so i can get the whole way there but also so others done have issues either

Agreed. Have you had any success in providing feedback?
