A couple of times now I have snagged insane deals. Latest one was about a month ago, they had a one day sale to Honolulu return on AirNZ, works, $750 all in. The best part: it was within the April 2018 school holiday period.

A mate wants to come along on the same holiday with his family, but currently can't get similar flights for less than about 2 grand a seat.

Subsequently they had a deal on Hawaiian Airlines return for $600. That one was outside of school holidays though.

As we got a killer deal have decided to splash out on the accommodation and are staying at the Ko Olina Villas - 3 bedroom condo sandwiched between the beach and golf course for about US$500/night - not too much more than a couple of average hotel rooms in Waikiki.

Hawaii seems to be getting a very big push from the airlines these days.
